    Product Description The Forge Motorsport dump valve for the 2015-on 1.2 TSI engine codes CJZA, CJZC, CJZD, CYVB as found in the Skoda Fabia, Skoda Octavia, VW Golf, VW Polo, Audi A1, Audi A3, Seat Ibiza and Seat Leon. Please note this kit is only compatible with models that do not have a standard turbo mounted diverter valve. Earlier models that have a turbo mounted diverter valve as standard require the kit with part number FMDVA1TSI and FMDVATSI The 1.2 and 1.4 TSI doesn’t have a dump valve from the factory, so this product allows you to have the traditional dump valve noise between gear changes and when letting off the gas pedal. It won’t bring on any check engine lights and the car will drive just as before. This kit totally replaces the plastic pipe from turbo to manifold with a silicon hose (available in a choice of colours), and everything else you need to install the valve is included in the kit together with full instructions.     This valve is an upgrade for the 2.0 turbocharged M133 DE20 LA (265 kW 355BHP version)  engine found in the Mercedes AMG A45 upto 2015. The engine as supplied by AMG has a port for a dump valve on the side of the turbo, but it is blanked off. Whilst this is fine for the stock level of tune, as the boost is turned up when the car is remapped, driveability can be effected and the car can stutter on hard acceleration, which ultimately will reduce the life of the turbo. Our valve bolts straight up to the turbo and is supplied with appropriate hardware in order to source vacuum to operate the valve.     Why buy the Forge Fiat 500 dump valve? Your Fiat 500 is equipped with an electronic solenoid driven valve from the factory, which is integrated into the functions of the ECU, and unplugging or removing the valve will result in a check engine light on the dashboard. The Forge solution is to retain the solenoid operation, but to use it to divert vacuum and boost pressure to the valve, to make it into a more traditional valve driven by air pressure.     This Blow Off, or Dump valve, is for the BMW N13 1.6 Turbo engines that have the electronically controlled bypass valve. This engine can be found in the F20/F21 and F30 chassis badged as 114i, 116i, 118i, 120i and 316i, 318i and 320i It is recommended for any vehicle where the boost pressure has been increased by an ECU software upgrade and for unmodified vehicles operating in warmer climates, as a solution to the many failures that have occurred, where the original rubber diaphragm splits, which causes a loss of boost pressure.     The FMDVMCS is a sandwich type adaptor that fits between the existing electrical solenoid and the turbo charger housing on the BMW Mini Cooper S N14 engines 2007/08(R56/57 *), Peugeot 1.6 turbo engines as found in the 207 and GTI , 208 GTI, 307, 308 and Citroen DS3. On these engines, built into the turbocharger housing, is a bypass facility. This allows charge air to be recirculated around the turbo charger from the boost side back to the intake side. This recirculation path is opened and closed by means of an electrical connection from the engine management, to a solenoid that is mounted on the turbocharger housing. As you accelerate, the turbo charger vanes are spinning and boost pressure is increased, literally blowing into the engine cylinders. Then when you change gear, you take you foot off the accelerator momentarily, select the next gear, and accelerate again. As you take your foot off the accelerator the throttle valve to the engine closes. The problem here is that during this process the turbo is still spinning and the boost pressure that it is producing has no where to go. (This is a bit like putting you hand over a hair dryer so the air cannot get out) What happens at this point is the turbo starts to stall, the spinning vanes slow down (incurring alot of stress) and the boost pressure drops. When you open the throttle valve again by pushing down on the accelerator (demanding more power) the turbo has lost its momentum, boost pressure and there is a pause or a "Lag" before the engine is producing the required power once again. To combat this loss of power and stress on the turbo, a recirculation or diverter valve is used. On the Mini, when the throttle valve closes, the engine management opens the recirculation route around the turbo. This gives the charge air an alternative route and allows the turbocharger to keep spinning so that when you accelerate again there is no "lag" or waiting period. This system works well and is adopted by nearly all vehicle manufacturers on turbo charged petrol engine applications. The only downside to this system is that a turbo chargers produce heat. (The hot air that leaves a turbo is cooled by passing it through an intercooler before it enters the engine. The cooler the air the more power is produced). By recirculating the hot air back into the intake side of a turbo the temperatures increase. This is where the Blow Off or Dump valve plays its part. By expelling the charge air to atmosphere rather than recirculating it, you do not increase the intake air temperature but you do allow the turbo to keep spinning. The side effect which is unacceptable to most vehicle manufacturers is the noise of the valve expelling the air. By fitting the FMDVMCS between the existing solenoid and the turbo housing (this involves removing only 3 bolts) the air is re-directed to atmosphere rather than recirculated. It should be noted that the engine management also uses this valve to decrease engine power when necessary. An example of this is by the (DSC) Dynamic Stability Control system. The most common complaint on the OEM solenoid valve is a split diaphragm preventing the valve from opening fully, or not at all. This doesn’t always result in a check engine light as the valve can still be blown open by the boost pressure. We have seen many valves with this problem .The other problem is that diaphragm retaining ring is made from very thin plastic that goes brittle with heat cycles, and eventually fails. This prevents the diaphragm from sealing with the same problems as mentioned above. This particular failure also results in the valve falling apart upon removal from the turbo, though in extreme cases bits of plastic can enter the turbo and destroy it. (see image above). Our alternative is a fully engineered solution offering both significantly improved reliability .Our valve is piston based , with no diaphragm to fail, and of all aluminium construction, it replaces the original unit with a pressure/vacuum operated piston valve that still also retains the desirable OEM ECU control over valve actuation. This kit features a Forge Ram Air high flow, pleated, synthetic nanofiber filtration filter, that has been manufactured for optimum size and fit to the available space giving superior flow and filtration with enhanced breathing for the 1.5 turbo charged engine. It also features a larger surface area than the stock filter and many competitors’ alternatives. The intake diameters on these air intakes have been carefully tuned to provide exactly the correct quantity of air ensuring solid consistent power gains throughout the rev range without any loss of low-end torque. The pipework is specifically designed to feed the turbo without interruption. The benefit of this is a gain of induction acoustics under acceleration, which improves the driving experience and adds a bit more drama to the TSI EVO engine. This helps to aid the engines performance and air flow in several ways. Designed in a similar way to a conventional velocity stack, it routes the air more directly into your turbo charger and allows more air than the stock inlet tract to be compressed due to its larger capacity. This can have a positive effect on accelerating your vehicle after long deceleration or between gear changes as more air is being kept within the intake system. The Forge developed inlet tract has more than a 50% increase in volume with the area at the mouth of the turbo increased to 46%. This, combined with no internal baffles or noise restrictors gives a helping hand to the vehicles acoustic notes and throttle response. With the use of Solidworks®, our CAD engineers have designed the heat shroud to fit round all the contours of the engine bay. This shroud combined with our specially formulated thermal coatings protects the intake from radiant heat while also guiding the cold air from the OE cold air ducting to the filter and housing.     This product only works in conjunction with FMINDK35. After the success of the FMDV22 Forge Motorsport has now developed a recirculating Valve option for the VAG 1.5 TSI engine. It uses our tried and tested FMDV008 recirculation valve, this valve has been with us for some time and has proved time and again to be tough, durable and ultra-reliable. By adding this valve, it prevents turbo surge and prolongs the life of your engine’s turbocharger. As the engine does not have a diverter valve fitted as standard, Forge have reused our tried and tested FMDV008 valve that increases the throttle response during gear changes by reducing turbo lag. It has been designed to help the turbocharger maintain its rotational speed ready for when you accelerate, whilst also taking the strain away from the impeller. Without removing this stress from your turbo, it could cause premature failure, especially on engines and modified vehicles.
