This kit requires no cutting or modification to the vehicle, allowing it to be reversed back to stock.   FMINDK39 is the long-awaited Forge induction kit for the VAG 1.0 TSI, including the Seat Ibiza Mk5. Our induction kit is an evolution of the FMINDK30 used for the VW UP! GTI. There are two key changes from that kit; the main and most important change is the incorporation of the OEM air duct which allows the kit to fit up to the original cold air ducting. The second alteration is the inclusion of a lid to the heat shield which has been selected to retain as much of the cold air flowing into the airbox as possible. After time spent on the dyno, we achieved gains of 5 bhp and 6lbft torque throughout the rev range which is extremely pleasing results not to mention the improved sound track our intake gives this punchy little 1.0 litre engine - higher gains can be expected from mapped cars.     With the success of FMINDK30 we took the opportunity to revisit the UP GTI and looked to see if we could improve on the 1.0 TSI air flow to the turbo charger. On investigation we could see that the OEM turbo adaptor was very restrictive and was an area in need for improvement. Therefore, our highly skilled development team got to work designing a solution to maximize the capacity by using our CAD system and physical prototypes. The OEM plastic turbo inlet includes a restrictive ribbed and hollow noise chamber that is designed to disturb the air flow and reduce induction noise, this OEM part has a detrimental effect to the engines performance especially when tuned. For the best possible gains, we removed the chamber allowing us to increase the volume and air flow significantly. Our hose design also has an internal stepped area where it is positioned and joined to the turbo housing, this is to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible from the inlet tract to the turbo. Several different designs and material choices were tested until we arrived with the product you see here. The construction of FMTIA3 is manufactured from reinforced multi ply silicone which is more durable than the OEM plastic pipe and it will also not suffer from heat soak like other similar products available. With its enlarged capacity and less restrictive surface area it routes air directly into your turbo charger and allows a greater volume of air to be compressed, this can have a positive effect on accelerating your vehicle after long deceleration or in between gear changes due to more air being kept within the inlet tract to the turbo charger. One significant feature of FMTIA3 is its compatibility with vehicles equipped with and without the PCV system integrated into the existing turbo intake, the early engines do not have the breather system in place from the fuel tank to the elbow. We supply the necessary hardware to blank of the elbow spouts if its required to fit the turbo inlet adaptor to the earlier engine revision The one way valve and coupler adaptor are also supplied so the elbow can be installed to the newer revised engine. The FMTIA3 is also compatible with the factory air box, however for the best performance results we recommend using our intake systems for your particular chassis application.   This is a product which is essential when tuning the 1.0 TSI engine, if its either stage one or stage two tuning we have seen consistent gains from 3-5 bhp depending on the vehicles state of tune. This is a straightforward yet very effective power increasing modification that can be fitted with basic tools and has a typical installation time of around 60 minutes. As with all Forge products it includes a full set of comprehensive installation instructions to make fitting as straightforward as possible. The Forge silicone hoses in this kit have been designed to include an expensive inner liner of modified silicone known as Fluorosilicone. This means the hoses are suitable to be used with either modern long-life coolants, Organic Acid Technology coolants (O.A.T.) or air containing oil mist. With the highly successful FMINDK30 and FMINDK39 induction kits for the previous generation 1.0 TSI VAG vehicles there has been a large demand for Forge Motorsport to develop an improved air intake system for the latest VAG power unit.  As with all manufacturers in recent times, the need to make smaller capacity engines more powerful with better efficiency has been their top priority. To achieve these goals, the OEM design engineers must maximise the space to its fullest, which in turn creates more of a challenge for the aftermarket manufacturers and tuners to improve what is already fitted to the vehicle. Nonetheless, this has not stopped us at Forge Motorsport! Even with plenty of expertise from past developments with the previous small capacity VAG engines, this new power unit needed an extensive amount of testing time to ensure we produced a product that provided genuine improvements over the standard air box.  The CAD designed, laser cut, and precision folded heat shield is designed to form a barrier between the air inlet tract and radiant heat from the engine. It also helps duct the cold air to the air filter, to preserve low intake temperatures, which in-turn creates more power. Finished in our black textured powder coating, this creates a product with an OEM look and quality. This kit is offered with our Forge high flow, pleated, synthetic nanofiber filtration filter, which has been manufactured for optimum size and fit to the available space giving superior flow and filtration with enhanced breathing for the 1.0 turbo charged engine.   Alternatively, there is our foam filter option available soon that has been exclusively manufactured by Pipercross. During dyno testing we tried several filter options and we found that neither filter excelled over the other with results being almost identical throughout the rev range. Both the filters offered can be oiled by the end user to prevent fine dust commonly found in hot climates from entering the inlet tract. Testing was completed using Performance Remap in Gloucester with their VTEC 4 wheel drive dynamometer. This was to ensure all our data has been achieved with results as accurately as possible by an independent tuner.  The dyno graph below shows torque gains at 2600RPM all the way to redline, with a gain of nearly 10NM from between 3000RPM and 3500RPM. This gain is very beneficial as it is consistently higher than stock from turbo spool up through to full boost, resulting in noticeably sharper acceleration and a more exhilarating experience for the driver, as typically this is where true power gains can be felt when behind the wheel.   The Forge Motorsport induction kit FMINDK52 includes all the necessary hardware and step by step installation instructions for any car enthusiast with basic garage tools to fit at home, in just a couple of hours!

      Similar to many of the newer VAG engines, the latest 1.0 TSI power plant is not equipped with a diverter valve fitted as standard, Forge Motorsport has developed a twin piston dump valve that not only gives you a loud audible sound when lifting off the throttle, but also increases the throttle response during gear changes by reducing turbo lag. It has been designed to help the turbocharger maintain its rotational speed ready for when you accelerate, whilst also taking the strain away from the impeller. Without removing this stress from your turbo, it can lead to premature failure especially on remapped engines and modified vehicles.       This valve kit allows the fitment of our fast response blow off valve preventing turbo surge and prolonging the life of your engine’s turbocharger. The kit includes all the necessary hardware and step by step installation instructions for any car enthusiast with appropriate garage tools to fit at home, in just a couple of hours!  Due to the exposed position of the OEM boost pipe and the nature of heat cycle, the plastic that the OEM pipe is made from can deteriorate over time, becoming brittle and susceptible to boost leaks. This kit totally replaces this plastic pipe from turbo to manifold with a multi-ply silicone hose (available in a choice of red or black).
