However, due to Bluestuff having excellent cold friction and being very controllable, this compound has quickly become the brake pad of choice for performance road car drivers in USA and Asia markets where R90 homologation does not apply. More recently, EBC are pleased to announce that Bluestuff has passed extensive road focused testing and gained R90 approval on some E.U. fitments, making it unique in being the first truly track focused pad which is also perfectly legal for use on the public roads across Europe. There is no requirement for E.U. customers to inform their insurance company following fitment of R90 approved pads. For customers with experience of EBC’s widely acclaimed Yellowstuff material, Bluestuff boasts a similar friction profile but with a usefully higher friction coefficient across the now larger working range, feeling much like you’d imagine Yellowstuff to feel after a double hit of espresso. Designed at AIRTEC Motorsport, we developed this breather kit package to suit modified Fiesta ST150 models after finding our own supercharged demo car would often show signs of excessive oil residue pushed through the breather pipes, cam cover and crank case breather during fast road and track use. This would in-turn cause residue and vapour build up as well as smoke as the excess oil was diverted back into the intake and ultimately into the engine’s inlet. We have also seen similar traits in naturally aspirated examples with uprated camshafts or even remaps. Our kit is based around an oil breather tank that is designed to separate the oil from the vapour where it would usually be diverted back into the intake. The tank then collects the oil and features a level indicator, which once full can be easily emptied by removing the drain located at the bottom. The kit also includes an inlet manifold blank off pipe (as you will not need the  to breathe back into the inlet manifold anymore), as well as two specially made Pro Hoses silicone lines, a mesh filter and all fixtures and fittings, including jubilee clips.  This kit is designed to fit with the original PCV set up but can be adapted to fit with our AIRTEC Motorsport billet PCV baffle plate (or other aftermarket PCV plates) with an additional hose and fitting – please get in contact with your specific requirements. AIRTEC Motorsport Oil Breather(s) For MK3 Focus RS Developed and manufactured at AIRTEC HQ in the UK, we’re proud to launch our twin oil breather kit suitable for modified or standard Mk3 Focus ST and RS models. This kit offers a comprehensive solution to improve the standard breather set up on the popular 2.0 & 2.3-litre Focus EcoBoost engines. The package features a machined billet baffle plate to replace the original Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) plate and valve set that features extra baffles to decrease the amount of oil that is able to enter the intake system. It also features take-offs for one or two external oil breather tanks to further help reduce crankcase pressure and carbon build-up that can plague these engines. The kit is simple to fit and comes with all fixtures, fittings and correctly sized pre-cut hoses. Once installed, the breather tanks oil content can be monitored with the lid mounted dipstick, The kit can be bought in separate packages (top or bottom), if only one section is required. Why do I need to uprate the PCV and breather? The original Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) plate and valve set up can cause issues with carbon build-up inside the engine’s intake system over time. It forms an oily sludge that covers parts of the intake and inlet valves, which reduces air flow and therefore performance. Once the build-up has formed, it’s a costly process to clean, so it makes sense to take preventative measures in order to avoid carbon build-up forming. The simplest and easiest way to do this is to replace the PCV system and with a plate that features extra baffles machined into the design increase the surface area the engine crankcase vapour passes over, which decreases the amount of oil that is able to enter the intake.
