The Racingline Performance Billet Engine Coolant Cap provides a complete replacement for the plastic OEM version. We’re proud of the over-engineering that we’re put into this cap. Manufactured from CNC 5-axis machined billet 6061 aluminium and hard anodised in gloss black for a long lasting, high quality finish. An internal springing mechanism provides the click – and ensures absolute tightness when fitted, even with the heat soak from a high performance engine. A laser etched ÔRacingline’ is the finishing touch and seal of approval for this lovely upgrade. Fitting is pretty obvious – but you will need to gently remove the rubber seal from your factory oil cap and re-install on your new RacingLine Oil Cap before you use it for the first time. Foam filters are still the optimum performance for performance, marginally. As the cotton surface becomes slowly contaminated it will start to restrict flow slightly but continue to function well for long periods of time compared to it’s form counterpart which requires cleaning and oiling before eventually deteriorating.     Racingline Performance DSG Oil Cooler System for MQB DQ250 (6 Speed Only) Part number: VWR29G7250 It’s not just your engine oil that you need to protect. Your DSG gearbox is susceptible to overheating. And the higher your power, the harder you drive, the more important it is to protect it. Under hard driving, the factory DSG oil/water cooler is easily overwhelmed. Problems start to occur when oil cannot dissipate its collected heat fast enough and the oil begins to thin and degrade – losing its lubrication properties. When this happens, the DSG will protect itself and begin to lower the torque, increase shift times and in extreme circumstances even loose gear selection. The RacingLine kit solves this problem: by adding in an additional air/oil cooler positioned right in the airflow at the front of the car, oil temperatures are reduced by around 15  – 20   degrees centigrade (of course dependant on how the car is being used, ambient temps and state of tune). The kit uses a clever design which retains the factory oil/water cooling and adds to it with the thermostatically-controlled front-mounted cooler – doubling up your cooling capability when it’s needed with less heat transfer into the water system. Only when the oil exceeds normal temperatures, the thermostat opens. Oil temperature then drops significantly as it is pumped through the densely packed fins of the 10-row cooler’s large surface area mounted right in the cool airflow.
