Designed to fit all models, this free-flowing intercooler is a direct replacement for the smaller and more restrictive OEM set up. Featuring a huge 120mm core design together with high-flow, cast end tanks, the AIRTEC intercooler offers much greater surface area, efficiency and volume over standard. Despite this improvement, it fits neatly behind the original bumper and can be used with the original hoses. As with all AIRTEC products, the intercooler was tested back-to-back on the dyno against the OEM item. This valve kit was developed for those who have tuned, or plan to tune, their Audi TTRS or Audi RS3 in excess of 450hp, as it was observed that cars over 450bhp were randomly getting errors from the stock solenoid valve not functioning. Whilst the stock valve will operate as designed, with the boost level necessary for 450bhp, the stock valve couldn’t move the amount or volume of air it needed to, so the ECU was seeing too great a positive boost in the MAP readings between gearchanges and assuming the stock valve wasn’t functioning correctly. We looked closely at this issue, and noted that there would be no real fix for this as the size of the hole for the valve is too small in the stock elbow. We decided that we would re-design and produce our own elbow, allowing a much larger DV port, which in turn would allow fitment of a larger valve to take advantage of it. We also improved the internal flow of the elbow and removed restriction within the valve. With the engine management on this engine being MAP based rather than MAF based, which is unlike many other Audi engines, we have also incorporated the option into the kit, of being able to run as a recirculation valve or with an atmospheric discharge/blow off. Following on from our success in developing an uprated intercooler in 2011 for the Audi TTRS, our tuning partners approached us to develop a 2nd version that would be specifically designed for those running 500+ bhp. With a no holes barred approach our engineers have created yet another success. All the available space is now utilised with our modified crash bumper that also doubles as the intercooler support. The Dynograph shows the comparison between a tuned TTRS running our original intercooler and after installing the 500+ bhp version. The results repeatedly showed an increase from the 460bhp previously acheived to 512bhp, indicating a gain of +52bhp.   Whilst we have retained the utilisation of the original hoses we do recommend the use of silicone hose replacements (product code FMKTTTRS) at this level of tuning. Please note: This intercooler is integrated into a replacement crash bumper and as such, is supplied as a combined item.
