SILICONE HOSES No detail has been overlooked when reducing restrictions within the stock airflow system. The stock corrugated plastic hose is replaced with a smooth silicone one, reducing air turbulence and increasing air volume and speed. A four-ply construction with an internal wire helix increases strength to prevent collapsing under pressure. Internal steps flush fit against the hard pipe section and turbo inlet, creating a smooth transition between components and ensuring the smoothest airflow.   TURBOCHARGER INLET HOSE The integrated sound suppression chamber of the OEM pipe has been removed, allowing for significantly more laminar airflow. The Revo inlet hose geometry allows faster air delivery to the turbo by smoothing the harsh 90° transition part of the stock pipe. Also removing the internal steps between components further ensures uninterrupted airflow and removes any unnecessary turbulence.   ALLOY HARD PIPE The Revo mid-section hard pipe offers a smoother internal geometry over the stock part it replaces, all contributing to the increased performance benefits of the Revo Intake. The Revo system was tested on a flow bench to highlight the kits efficiency in allowing more air to reach the turbo, quickly and with less restriction. The OEM system reached its maximum potential of 490 cubic feet per minute with a restriction of 1082 mmWg, compared to the Revo system which was able to flow 700 CFM with a restriction of only 965 mmWg. Silicone Hose There is two 4ply silicone hoses included, both offer smooth internals and flush-fit joins onto the carbon pipe for a smooth transition of air. This eliminates unwanted turbulence as the air transitions between parts. The constant taper of the turbo inlet hose allows the airflow time to adjust to the change in pressure, allowing the turbo to run more efficiently. Air Filter The cone shape of the Revo filter was designed to allow more free flowing air around the filter, helping reduce intake temperatures and increase performance, whilst the custom specification mesh allows the filter to keep its shape. The end of the filter has a specially designed spinning which returns into the filter channelling the air to the centre of the outlet, promoting smoother more direct airflow. Airflow A constant taper in the hose ensures a smooth transition of airflow from the airbox to turbo and results in an increase in air volume over stock. Further helped by fully stepped internals that match to the outlet and inlet for the ultimate in airflow characteristics.Designed to fit in exactly the same way as the factory part, while the Revo kit has significantly increased the volume of airflow through the larger carbon pipe and smoother transitions, the same OE fit is retained. CROSS OVER PIPE The Revo engineering team knew that to create the most effective kit, every component had to be considered to maximise and smooth airspeed. The system is designed around the single-piece aluminium cross over pipe, mandrel-bent to maintain the internal diameter in the corner and to remove the restrictions found in the OEM pipe. The direct routing and increased diameter pipe offer superior flow and deliver more air to the turbocharger over a shorter period.   SILICONE HOSES The plastic hoses on the stock system are designed with a corrugated style to flex with the engine movement, while this has its place it also causes a large amount of turbulence as the airflow doesn’t have a smooth direct path to the turbo. We designed the silicone hoses with stepped internals to ensure a flush fit and to minimise turbulence while still allowing for engine movement. The turbo inlet hose has an increased inner diameter that gradually tapers from the hard pipe to turbo to optimise airflow.   AIR FILTER An intake system is only as good as the filter. This kit comes complete with a custom Revo foam filter, supported by galvanised epoxy-coated mesh for strength under load. Revo three-stage foam filters work very differently to conventional paper or cotton-gauze alternatives designed to trap particles on the outer layer. Revo filters trap debris and particles within the foam layers, allowing air to still navigate through. The spun base of the filter offers a smooth radius aluminium bell mouth, specifically designed for optimum airflow from the filter to pipe-work.   HEATSHIELD Ensuring the engine has access to cold air is vital for performance. The Revo heat shield channels cold air from the front intake duct while partitioning the filter from the heat of the engine bay. The Revo Heatshield uses the stock mounting points to provide easy and secure installation. MOUNTING BRACKET AND FITTING KIT The Revo kits come complete with a full fitting kit that allows for easy installation. Included is a fully machined crossover bracket which increases the strength of this fixture point and alleviates any possibility of bracket failure from engine movement. RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT All Revo products are designed in-house and are rigorously tested utilising an in-house 3D printer, latest CAD and CFD programs, hub dyno and Revo data acquisition software. The Revo intake allows the turbo to run more efficiently, intake a larger volume of air and minimise turbulence to increase both power and torque, as highlighted during controlled dyno testing. The Revo PUMA ST MK2 open cone air intake system was tested in-house to compare the performance against that of the Ford OEM intake. First tested on a vehicle running the OEM intake with Revo Stage 1 software, Revo Intercooler and a Milltek GPF back exhaust, the Revo intake was then installed and tested in the same controlled environment to highlight the benefits of enhanced cooling. PERFORMANCE DATA The results show improvement throughout the whole rev range, but especially towards the top end of the rev range. The Revo intake offering an average gain of +7WHP, and +11NM torque over the stock part. Increased airflow also delivers impressive peak performance gains of +14WHP @6200rpm and +19NM @5100RPM over the stock intake system. AIRFLOW More air, less restriction. The Revo system was tested on a flow bench to highlight the kits efficiency in allowing more air to reach the turbo, quickly and with less restriction. The OEM system reached its maximum potential of 490 cubic feet per minute with a restriction of 1082 mmWg, compared to the Revo system which was able to flow 700 CFM with a restriction of only 965 mmWg.     Revo Air Intake SystemIncreased Power, Torque & Throttle Response OVERVIEW The Revo OEM+ Air Intake System for the Ford Fiesta ST is a high performance upgrade that utilises the stock air box, offering gains in both power and torque. Initial flow testing of the OEM system highlighted the restriction and turbulence caused by the pipe joining the turbo to the airbox. The route varies in diameter and convolutions in the pipe slow airflow to the turbo, choking the engine. The OEM airbox performed far better than expected when used in conjunction with the Revo enhancements. The Revo system is the only kit currently available that replaces the rear plastic back-pipe with a one-piece 70mm aluminium pipe. Automotive grade silicone couplers connect the system to the stock airbox and a Revo 3 stage foam panel filter replaces the restrictive paper filter. At the same 300 CFM point there is a difference of 151 mmWg between the stock and Revo OEM+ intake.     Turbo Inlet Hose The Revo Turbo Inlet Hose has been designed and engineered to directly replace the stock pipe and elbow found in vehicles with the 1.8 and 2.0 TSI engines with an IHI turbo. The Revo Turbo Inlet Hose offers a high-quality single piece replacement for the OEM parts which allows for smoother uninterrupted air flow, improving the throttle response and performance of your vehicle. With a generously sized air box, the standard plastic intake hose causes the most amount of restriction; convolutions designed to allow for engine movement disrupt airflow, a small internal diameter limits the volume of air and a sharp reduction in hose diameter at the turbo causes turbulence. Turbo Inlet The Revo machined inlet replaces the restrictive elbow found on the IS20/IS38 turbos. The machined billet aluminium inlet securely fits to the OE unit using locking tabs and integrated O-rings. With almost double the cross-sectional area compared to other available products, air can stabilise and distribute before a smooth tapered transition to the turbo. Removing the internal steps between components further ensures uninterrupted airflow and removes any unnecessary turbulence. Silicone Hose Design The Revo Turbo Hose as an increased inner diameter that gradually tapers from air box to turbo to optimise airflow, while maintaining the tolerances required to fit both LHD and RHD vehicles with a standard air box. Designed to directly replace the plastic hose and turbo elbow, this upgrade reduces restriction and maximises smooth airflow improving both power and torque throughout the rev range. A four-ply construction with an internal wire helix increases strength to prevent collapsing under pressure. Internal steps flush fit against the stock air box and the machined inlet, creating a smooth transition between components ensuring the smoothest airflow possible to the turbo. A machined bung is integrated in to the hose, connecting the stock PCV system vacuum. Research and Development All Revo products are designed in-house and are rigorously tested. The Revo Turbo Inlet Hose allows the Stock IS38 turbo to run more efficiently, intake a larger volume of air and minimise turbulence. This increases power and torque, especially at the top end of the rev range as highlighted during controlled Dyno testing.
