Everything needed is supplied in the kit, including the highest quality stainless steel clamps. Our Dyno testing of this kit showed improvements of 6 horsepower over the stock airbox on a standard engine with greater improvements on tuned vehicles. Whilst Power gains may vary depending on your modifications and level of tune, if you desire even more performance, this has to be the perfect choice. The filter is located directly in front of the cold air duct into the engine bay. This kit also significantly tidys up the engine bay by removal of the OEM airbox and associated cold air ducting.     The FMDVMCS is a sandwich type adaptor that fits between the existing electrical solenoid and the turbo charger housing on the BMW Mini Cooper S N14 engines 2007/08(R56/57 *), Peugeot 1.6 turbo engines as found in the 207 and GTI , 208 GTI, 307, 308 and Citroen DS3. On these engines, built into the turbocharger housing, is a bypass facility. This allows charge air to be recirculated around the turbo charger from the boost side back to the intake side. This recirculation path is opened and closed by means of an electrical connection from the engine management, to a solenoid that is mounted on the turbocharger housing. As you accelerate, the turbo charger vanes are spinning and boost pressure is increased, literally blowing into the engine cylinders. Then when you change gear, you take you foot off the accelerator momentarily, select the next gear, and accelerate again. As you take your foot off the accelerator the throttle valve to the engine closes. The problem here is that during this process the turbo is still spinning and the boost pressure that it is producing has no where to go. (This is a bit like putting you hand over a hair dryer so the air cannot get out) What happens at this point is the turbo starts to stall, the spinning vanes slow down (incurring alot of stress) and the boost pressure drops. When you open the throttle valve again by pushing down on the accelerator (demanding more power) the turbo has lost its momentum, boost pressure and there is a pause or a "Lag" before the engine is producing the required power once again. To combat this loss of power and stress on the turbo, a recirculation or diverter valve is used. On the Mini, when the throttle valve closes, the engine management opens the recirculation route around the turbo. This gives the charge air an alternative route and allows the turbocharger to keep spinning so that when you accelerate again there is no "lag" or waiting period. This system works well and is adopted by nearly all vehicle manufacturers on turbo charged petrol engine applications. The only downside to this system is that a turbo chargers produce heat. (The hot air that leaves a turbo is cooled by passing it through an intercooler before it enters the engine. The cooler the air the more power is produced). By recirculating the hot air back into the intake side of a turbo the temperatures increase. This is where the Blow Off or Dump valve plays its part. By expelling the charge air to atmosphere rather than recirculating it, you do not increase the intake air temperature but you do allow the turbo to keep spinning. The side effect which is unacceptable to most vehicle manufacturers is the noise of the valve expelling the air. By fitting the FMDVMCS between the existing solenoid and the turbo housing (this involves removing only 3 bolts) the air is re-directed to atmosphere rather than recirculated. It should be noted that the engine management also uses this valve to decrease engine power when necessary. An example of this is by the (DSC) Dynamic Stability Control system.     This kit replaces the three boost hoses on the Peugeot 207 GT , GTi Turbo and Citroen DS3. Please note: Four hoses are supplied in the kit as the turbo to intercooler coupler can either have a 48 or 41 mm internal diameter. So dependant on your vehicle , one hose will be redundant. The Forge silicone hoses in this kit have been designed to include an expensive inner liner of modified silicone known as Fluorosilicone. This means the hoses are suitable to be used with  either modern long-life coolants, Organic Acid Technology coolants (O.A.T.) or air containing oil mist. The construction of the hoses has been engineered to exceed that of the OEM fitments, and will enhance any engine bay both technically and aesthetically The use of a Fluorosilicone liner ensures that Forge silicone hoses are the clear market leader.

    This Recirculation valve (quiet in operation) is for the Citroen DS3 1.6 Turbo engines, that have the electronically controlled bypass valves. It is recommended for any vehicle where the boost pressure has been increased by an ECU software upgrade and for unmodified vehicles operating in warmer climates, as a solution to the many failures that have occurred. The problem is that diaphragm retaining ring is made from very thin plastic that goes brittle with heat cycles, and eventually fails. Unfortunately the failure doesn’t always result in a check engine light as the valve can still be blown open by the boost pressure, so you may not be aware that you are losing power due to this. This prevents the diaphragm from sealing This particular failure can also result in the valve falling apart upon removal from the turbo, and in extreme cases, we have heard of bits of plastic entering the turbo resulting in serious damage. Our alternative is a fully engineered solution offering both significantly improved reliability .Our valve is piston based , with no diaphragm to fail, and of all aluminium construction, it replaces the original unit with a pressure/vacuum operated piston valve that still also retains the desirable OEM ECU control over valve actuation. The valve has been proved on the VAG scene for many years.     The Forge Motorsport FMTUBL4 has been specifically designed for the Mini R56 stock turbo charger, and also fits the Peugeot 207/208 GTI. This turbo blanket is designed to isolate the radiant heat produced by the turbocharger. The stock Mini heat shield is inadequate and can result in warping the standard air scoop located in the bonnet. This design has been created to withstand the harshest of environments and proven to withstand temperatures up to 2500 °f of radiant heat which will assist in protecting and prolonging the life of engine components. Design innovation keeps the heat of the exhaust gases contained within the hot side of the turbocharger, away from the cool side and the intake path which helps reduce turbo lag and air intake temperatures resulting in more power.
