This Citroen DS3 performance exhaust is made in 2.5"/63.5mm pipework and fit from the catalytic converter section backwards (Cat-back) these exhausts replace the centre and rear sections. The resonated exhaust option includes the centre silencer and has a subtle but sporty tone. This exhaust however, is also available as a non-resonated version which is a louder optionåÊas it excludes the centre silencer and therefore, has a sportier exhaust note.åÊ All relevant fittings and gaskets are supplied. Press Release Cobra Sport were keen to develop a system for the DS3 which would match the fun and sporty feel of the car. The decision was made to manufacture the systems with 2.5"å� (62.5mm) mandrel bent T304 stainless steel pipework to allow for maximum gas flow and to deepen the exhaust tone. The completed exhaust systems create a much improved sound track on the DS3. During the 4,000 rpm static test the sound level of the resonated cat back system increased by 3.5db to register 78.4db on the sound meter. The non resonated system takes this a step further recording a more pronounced 82.5db an increase of 8db over the standard system. Our development car was fully tested on the rolling road with the Cobra Sport cat back exhaust upgrade fitted. This testing revealed a 3.35% increase in horse power recording and impressive 154.3bhp. The testing also revealed excellent gains in torque with a 11.4% increase with the total figure jumping up to just over 200 lb-ft. Mass also reduced providing a weight saving of just over 0.5kg in comparison to its OE counterpart even with the largely increased pipework bore size. All in all these are certainly impressive results for this little car. Styling options consist of standout 3" & 3.25"å� twin tailpipes in various styles including the new Blackout Ceramic tips. Available in these options are less obtrusive slash cut tailpipes which compliment the DS3's aesthetics nicely. All the exhaust variants are designed to remove the restrictive O/E first silencer which produces a more powerful sound track and overall, providing a purposeful but unobtrusive sound quality which in no way interferes with day-to-day drivability. Unrivalled quality is the hallmark of every Cobra Sport exhaust. Each exhaust is engineered to the highest tolerances. Mandrel bending of the stainless steel tubes ensures clean airflow. Jig manufacturing and TIG welding procedures ensure great looks and a superlative finish. The Forge Motorsport FMTUBL4 has been specifically designed for the Mini R56 stock turbo charger, and also fits the Peugeot 207/208 GTI. This turbo blanket is designed to isolate the radiant heat produced by the turbocharger. The stock Mini heat shield is inadequate and can result in warping the standard air scoop located in the bonnet. This design has been created to withstand the harshest of environments and proven to withstand temperatures up to 2500 °f of radiant heat which will assist in protecting and prolonging the life of engine components. Design innovation keeps the heat of the exhaust gases contained within the hot side of the turbocharger, away from the cool side and the intake path which helps reduce turbo lag and air intake temperatures resulting in more power. This Blow Off valve is for the Citroen DS3 1.6 Turbo engines, that have the electronically controlled bypass valves. It is recommended for any vehicle where the boost pressure has been increased by an ECU software upgrade and for unmodified vehicles operating in warmer climates, as a solution to the many failures that have occurred. The problem is that diaphragm retaining ring is made from very thin plastic that goes brittle with heat cycles, and eventually fails. Unfortunately the failure doesn’t always result in a check engine light as the valve can still be blown open by the boost pressure, so you may not be aware that you are losing power due to this.  This prevents the diaphragm from sealing This particular failure can also result in the valve falling apart upon removal from the turbo, and in extreme cases, we have heard of bits of plastic entering the turbo resulting in serious damage. Our alternative is a fully engineered solution offering both significantly improved reliability .Our valve is piston based , with no diaphragm to fail, and of all aluminium construction, it replaces the original unit with a pressure/vacuum operated piston valve that still also retains the desirable OEM ECU control over valve actuation. The valve has been proved on the VAG scene for many years.
