These parts are made in 3"/76.2mm pipework and fit from the catalytic converter section backwards (Cat-back) these parts replace the centre and rear sections. This resonated system includes the centre silencer and has a subtle but sporty tone. This part however, is also available as a non-resonated version (excluding the centre silencer) which is a louder option. All relevant fittings and gaskets are supplied. These Ford Focus Mk4 ST performance exhausts are made in 3"/76.2mm pipework and fit from the Gasoline Particulate Filter section backwards (GPF-back) these exhausts replace the centre and rear sections. All relevant fittings and gaskets are supplied. This exhaust removes the standard rear box for the ultimate improvement in terms of exhaust tone and sound level whilst keeping the stock catalyst and GPF in place. This exhaust system has been designed to be easily upgradable to a cat-back or full turbo-back exhaust in the future by purchasing additional sections. This exhaust has a choice of 4 tailpipe options including a 4.5" (114.5mm) carbon fibre tip. And in 2012, despite losing a cylinder and half a litre of capacity to its predecessor, the Mk3 still sold in the thousands. Every generation of Focus ST has had seemingly limitless tuning potential thanks to their horsepower-hungry engines and playful handling characteristics. Cobra Sport bring over 40 years of experience to the design and engineering of quality, performance orientated exhaust systems. Matt Thomas, Cobra Sport's Sales Manager explains the improvements achieved. "Independent testing shows that the primary cat-back system boosts performance from an initial 196.5bhp to a genuine 207.5bhp when working in conjunction with a AEM forced air induction filter. The bore size is increased by 18% to 63.5mm and the system benefits from a 27% reduction in weight when compared to the OE system." The system is available in both resonated and non-resonated options allowing the driver to tailor the sound to their preference, with the non-resonated option providing a venomous sound which offers a more involved driving experience. The system is finished with either round or slash cut tailpipes in a matte black or stainless steel finish, each with a 4"/114.3mm diameter which compliments the rear valance. All relevant fittings and gaskets are supplied. Press Release Cobra Sport were keen to develop a system for the 208 GTi which would match the fun and sporty feel of the car. The decision was made to manufacture the systems with 2.5̢‰âÂå� (62.5mm) mandrel bent T304 stainless steel pipework to allow for maximum gas flow and to deepen the exhaust tone. The completed exhaust systems create a much improved sound track on the 208 GTi. During the 4,000 rpm static test the sound level of the resonated cat back system increased by 3.5db to register 78.4db on the sound meter. The non resonated system takes this a step further recording a more pronounced 82.5db an increase of 8db over the standard system. Our development car was fully tested on the rolling road with the Cobra Sport cat back exhaust upgrade fitted. This testing revealed a 3.35% increase in horse power recording and impressive 154.3bhp. The testing also revealed excellent gains in torque with a 11.4% increase with the total figure jumping up to just over 200 lb-ft. Mass also reduced providing a weight saving of just over 0.5kg in comparison to its OE counterpart even with the largely increased pipework bore size. All in all these are certainly impressive results for this little car. Styling options consist of standout 3"å� twin unobtrusive slash cut tailpipes which compliment the GTI's aesthetics nicely. All the exhaust variants are designed to remove the restrictive O/E first silencer which produces a more powerful sound track and overall, providing a purposeful but unobtrusive sound quality which in no way interferes with day-to-day drivability. Unrivalled quality is the hallmark of every Cobra Sport exhaust. Each exhaust is engineered to the highest tolerances. Mandrel bending of the stainless steel tubes ensures clean airflow. Jig manufacturing and TIG welding procedures ensure great looks and a superlative finish. Press Release The 2015 Ford Focus ST TDCI was always on the agenda to lend itself to another of Cobra Sports exhaust upgrades, due to the massive success of the ST250 marques. The Cobra Sport development team recommended 3"å� bore pipework in order to gain the best results with regards to both power and sound. The final development is available as a rear box replacement which enhanced the TDCI engine sound by only 2 dB at three quarter revs, but allowed a deeper overall tone. As expected there was an exceptional weight advantage, with the Cobra Sport exhaust being a massive 54% lighter than the original equipment exhaust. The new Focus ST TDCI exhaust has two tailpipe design options, one being the custom designed twin 4.5" x 3" slash cut oval and the other the twin 4" inward rolled slash-cut tailpipe.
