Our ECS Tuning Textured Black Engine Cover transforms the engine bay in your VW/Audi MQB Gen3 vehicle with sharp styling, covering what needs covered and leaving the rest to the already-great appearance of the engine bay. Our design features incorporate the factory intake manifold design elements, while covering the unsightly, plastic parts that are often difficult to keep clean. Oil changes and between service top-offs can be completed with the engine cover in place as we designed ample clearance for the oil filter housing, dipstick and oil fill cap. Exposed ignition cutouts allow for visibility of upgraded coil packs. We strive for the highest level of precision and quality through leading-edge product development technology including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long term product testing.   INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT The included ball studs thread quickly into the unused OE plastic intake manifold bosses. From there the pre-installed engine cover mounting grommets snap right over the ball studs. Our R&D Team spent a considerable amount of time designing every feature to perfectly execute the strict styling requirements associated atop the Gen3 engine. After multiple design iterations, ensuring that every edge and every line was made to perfectly compliment the complex and unique features that the Gen3 engine bears, we were finally satisfied with the shear beauty and styling transformation that our Carbon Fiber Engine Cover provides.  A brushed aluminum logo plate, featuring a screen-printed ECS Tuning logo, is pre-installed onto the engine cover for timeless appeal and decor. Openings within the engine cover expose the ignition coils to compliment our similar styling to the Gen1 TSI ECS Carbon Fiber Engine Cover. * Engine oil cap functionality is retained so you can easily top-off your engine oil between services without engine cover removal. Engine oil filter housing cap clearance is maintained for visual appeal only (compatible with OEM and ECS Billet Oil Filter Housing). We recommend removing the engine cover while performing an engine oil and filter service to avoid engine cover damage.  Further design considerations were strategically made such as clearance for "most" aftermarket intake systems, ECS catch can breather hoses, OEM and ECS oil dipstick functionality and perfect accommodations to clear the ignition coil harness. Styling amongst the engine itself were added into our design including the intake manifold plenum shape where our engine cover perfectly wraps and covers the unpleasing OE plastic intake manifold. Individual intake runner profiles compliment the OE design and further add engine bay styling; being careful not to take any mechanical styling away from the engine our engineers worked to keep the engine looking like an engine. Slots between the intake runner covers keep cleaning and maintenance down as no dirt can be trapped between the runners.  Installing the ECS Engine Cover is simple! The included ball studs thread quickly into the OE plastic intake manifold bosses. From there the pre-installed engine cover mounting grommets snap right over the OE and ECS ball studs. The ECS Engine Cover can then be installed or removed just like the factory cover without any further tools needed.  Sold as a complete kit, our Carbon Fiber Engine Cover kit includes 2 specific ball studs for installation and a complete, pre-assembled Engine Cover. ECS Tuning has created a simple overlay kit that installs directly over the factory front and rear engine covers, while still retaining the Audi rings logo and the V6 TFSI nameplate for an OEM plus look! Installation is a breeze, simply peel the paper backing from the adhesive tape, line up the overlays with your OEM engine covers, and press down firmly. We pre-install the unique engine cover mounting grommets for you, so all you have to do is remove the old plastic cover, and replace with your new ECS Carbon Fiber Engine Cover!  *Installation Notes: For vehicles using the factory turbo inlet pipe, a spacer is included for proper engine cover to inlet pipe clearance.  Installed where the pipe mounts, it pushes the tube away from the cover. When installing with our ECS Boost Tap (ES#2718328) and using both vacuum nipples, there may be slight interference between the plastic securing clip and the Engine Cover. To correct this, please use low profile clip (ES#25115) to secure the Boost Tap in place of the plastic connector clip.
