Enhance the intake system on your 2015+ Volkswagen GTI or Golf R to its fullest potential with our ECS Tuning Performance Air Inlet Scoops! Strategically placed within the grille, these help to grab and direct ambient air right into your aftermarket or modified OEM intake system's opening.  The factory grille leaves provisions that allow intake air into the inlet duct on the passenger side but leaves out a direct flow-path to the air inlet on the driver's side. From aftermarket dual air intake ducts to DIY'ers modifying their OEM grille to allow for a more direct route on the driver's side, our Product Development Team saw an opportunity to serve the aftermarket with a clean, OEM-type solution that not only provides for a cleaner install, but directs cool outside air directly into the air intake passage(s). To help you achieve the best results during installation each kit includes an adhesive-backed vinyl trim template for both left and right side positions that align to OEM features on the grille. Once in place, the scoop opening can then be easily cut open with a Dremel or hack saw/drill combo.    PART DESIGN The ECS Inlet Scoops are designed to work with OEM honeycomb and slant/bar style grilles on MK7 / MK7.5 GTI, Golf R and Alltrack models Manufactured from laser cut and CNC-bent 5052 sheet aluminum  Trim Plates are designed to replicate the OEM Honeycomb design and are fine wrinkle black powdercoated to match OEM-textured surfaces  Inlet Scoops are available in either fine wrinkle black or fine wrinkle red powdercoated finishes and available in either left-side, right-side, or combined locations   KIT CONTENTS Upper Trim Plate (Fine Wrinkle Black Honeycomb design)  Performance Inlet Scoop Kit  Pre-Installed ECS Tuning "Luft-Technik" Logo Plate with aluminum rivets  Pre-Installed Stainless steel press fit nuts  Stainless steel mounting bolts and washers  Trim Templates - Left & Right (Driver's and Passenger's Side)   PERFORMANCE FEATURES Maximizes the performance benefits of dual inlet intake systems by directing cold air coming through the grille up into the duct on both sides   PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT Our ECS Performance Inlet Scoop Kit was designed, engineered, tested and quality inspected by our Research and Development team in our Wadsworth, Ohio facility. We strive for the highest level of precision and quality through leading-edge product development technology including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long term product testing.   INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT MK7 GTI, Golf R, Alltrack and MK7.5 Golf R customers: Installation requires trimming and drilling of your factory grille to allow for intended use. MK7.5 Customers: Installation requires drilling and optional trimming of your factory grille to allow for intended use. Product Details Upgrade your intake system with the ECS Tuning Luft-Technik Intake Air Scoop! This air scoop works with your OEM or ECS Tuning Kohlefaser Luft-Technik/Luft-Technik Intake System to guide more air into the intake tract. The Luft-Technik Intake Air Scoop was engineered and designed in-house to replace the shorter existing scoop equipped from the factory, extending farther down behind the grille to capture more incoming air and route it to the intake system.  Installs using factory hardware and is completely reversible, no additional hardware or modifications required. For help with installation please view our PDF located under the Installation tab. *This Performance Intake Air Scoop will work with both ECS Tuning intake systems as well as the OEM system.
