    In most vehicle applications, the corrugated turbo inlet hose found in the intake system is not designed for performance or modification. It was designed to get the job done, and when adding a performance filter, intake, or tune the stock inlet hose can start to show it's weakness when suction from the turbocharger is increased. The ECS Carbon Fiber Turbo Inlet Pipe was designed in-house and made with high quality hand laid carbon fiber layers providing a strong and secure fit. A smooth interior provides unimpeded airflow, while the carbon fiber exterior adds an appearance upgrade to any engine bay.    PART DESIGN The carbon fiber pipe is constructed from 2x2 twill weave carbon fiber, gloss clear coated for UV and heat protection for continuous operating temperatures of up to 300°. Designed to fit perfectly in place of the factory accordion pipe, our CAD design assures a smooth gradual transition from the intake/airbox to the turbo inlet. The included silicone hose couplers allow clean fitment of any intake setup; The smooth, straight coupler is used with a hard mounted intake pipe configurations to the engine (such as ECS Kohlefaser Luft-Technik mounted to the cylinder head) The accordion rubber coupler is used with OE-type mounting configurations (such as OEM airbox)   PERFORMANCE FEATURES With its smooth interior surface as compared to the OEM accordion tube's ribbed, turbulent interior you can expect a smoother transition from air filter to the turbo inlet. All too often OEM components sacrifice performance in an effort to appeal to a wide variety of customers. While an enthusiast typically wants better boost response and more power, all while hearing the turbocharger breathe, a non-enthusiast may give up these characteristics for a quieter ride. Give your 3.0T Audi B9 S4 or S5 the performance it deserves and engage with your car for a more enjoyable driving experience!  In the case of the factory turbo inlet pipe, mounted between the compressor housing and air intake hose, its purpose is to channel air from the inlet hose into the turbocharger inlet, all while reducing engine bay acoustics and sacrificing quality materials in favor of cheap molded plastic material. With the ECS Big Bore Turbo Inlet Pipe, the factory inlet pipe is removed and replaced with our straight-through, high flow cast aluminum inlet. This increases available airflow and turbocharger sound by creating a larger, smoother transition between the turbo inlet hose and compressor housing inlet. To top things off, the flange and bungs are TIG welded, machined billet aluminum to ensure longevity, strength, and dimensional accuracy.   Key features:  Cast aluminum construction 55mm ID at the turbo inlet to maximize air flow (compared to stock 52.2mm) with an 11% increase in area 66mm ID at the intake elbow Retains factory PCV return and wire loom anchors Machined billet flange and bungs for a precision fit and durability  Oil resistant o-ring and stainless hardware included   Performance: Increased bore diameter for increased flow and reduced restriction to the turbo At -20 in Hg test pressure, the stock inlet has a flow rate of 327 CFM vs the ECS inlet which has a flow rate of 382 CFM, a 16.8% increase in flow rate over the stock plastic inlet!
