The resonated exhaust option includes the centre silencer and has a subtle but sporty tone. This exhaust however, is also available as a non-resonated version (excluding the centre silencer) which is a louder option as it excludes the centre silencer and therefore, has a sportier exhaust note.åÊ The de-catåÊexhaust option is sold for motorsport and off road use only and will NOT be able to pass a UK MOT emissions test or police road side checks. At the top end of the conversion, with a complete turbo back system including a de-cat (re-map required) the power gains are more than significant, with results showing an impressive 35% increase in BHP to 290.5Bhp and similarly torque results jump from 229lb f-ft to 292lb f-ft an astonishing 27.5% increase. This system, designed for the single exit 5 door A3 2.0 TDI engines produces a slightly deeper than standard tone on idle and when under load the exhaust tone becomes more pronounced with a surge in urgency. At idle the system recorded a level of 66.7dB which then increased to 82.3dB on the static 3,000rpm sound test. Interior sound is kept to a comfortable level averaging 74.1dB on the test circuit maxing out at 77.4dB under full acceleration.
