Cobra Sport were keen to make the most of the beautiful tone produced by the 3.2 engine. The decision was made to manufacture the system with 3inch mandrel bent T304 stainless steel pipework to allow for maximum gas flow and to deepen the exhaust tone. The completed systems produce a beautiful pitch perfect tone you would expect from the 3.2 engine. During the 4,000 rpm static test the resonated cat back system increased by 8db to register 88.1db on the sound meter. The Cobra Sport systems also offer an impressive 32% weight saving over the standard system weighing in at only 10.94kg. The new Audi A3 system benefits from all of the usual Cobra Sport refinements with mandrel bent, TIG welded, grade 304 stainless steel used throughout the systems as standard. Additionally, Cobra Sport are one of the very few manufacturers who can guarantee that every component in the exhaust is made from stainless steel.
