Constructed from 63.5mm / 2.5" T304 stainless steel pipework, the resonator delete pipe has been designed to improve the soundtrack of the Golf R (non-GPF model) without replacing the entire cat-back system. This low cost upgrade requires the OE cat-back to be cut. The Scorpion part then replaces the original centre silencer. Scorpion are pleased to announce a new range of performance DPF-back systems for the VW Golf Mk7 GTD Available for the application is a T304 stainless steel 76mm/3" non resonated DPF-back standard exit exhaust system or dual exit Gti style exhaust. The CNC Mandrel bent systems are designed with a high flow profile to allow exhaust gas to flow more freely resulting in an increase in power while ensuring weight is decreased. Due to the characteristics of the car all available options are non resonated as no silencer is required. The standard exit option can be selected with twin 90mm carbon Ascari,  polished Daytona or black ceramic coated Daytona tailpipes. The Cobra Sport system really improves the drivability of this car and takes it to the next level". Independent rolling road testing of the Golf MK7 resonated turbo back system with sports cat front pipe and aftermarket air intake revealed a +40.76bhp (30.4KW) power increase measured at all 4 wheels with the Golf R putting an impressive 270.61bhp (201.8KW) through the rollers. This testing was undertaken by a dealer in Australia in temperatures of 29.3 degrees celsius and an air density of 93.6%. A substantial weight saving can also be achieved with the 3” turbo back system providing a whopping 35% decrease in weight from the Original Equipment version. The styling of the system is finished off with either quad 5” x 3” oval slash-cut tailpipes in stainless steel finish or the upgraded ceramic coated versions.
