    THIS ITEM IS NONE RETURNABLE The ECS Tuning Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC) Kit boosts power and lowers intercooler outlet temps by maximizing core volume and more efficiently dispelling heat over the OEM sandwich-mounted intercooler. The factory intercooler is positioned between two hot heat exchangers, the A/C Condenser and Radiator, and suffers from an undersized and underperforming tube and fin core from the factory. Upgrading the OE-location intercooler is difficult for most hobbyists and is hidden within the core support. An alternative choice is our In-House Designed and Engineered FMIC Kit which relocates the charge cooler front and center, right behind your front bumper cover for maximum available airflow while moving it away from the hot heat exchangers inside the engine bay, all while adding an aggressive appearance to your turbocharged VW!  Our design features high quality cast aluminum end tanks with an integral flow divider on the inlet for even flow distribution, a massive 26” x 7 ⅞” x 3.0” (614.25 in.³ volume) aluminum bar and plate core, which lends to an increase in volume of +19.78% over the OEM GTI intercooler, for maximum heat dissipation, bolt-on powder-coated steel brackets, which require absolutely NO drilling or cutting, and 5-ply pre-molded silicone couplers with T-Bolt hose clamps. Our intercooler was in-house engineered to provide a bolt-on cooling solution for the VW MK7 GTI and Golf R market.     CSF Quadruple Pass DSG Cooler - MQB PlatformThe cooling ineffectiveness of the DSG Cooler can be explained after examining the stock cooling system design. The factory coolant routes out of the engine block, into a Y-piece where it splits into the engine water radiator and then into the DSG cooler. This DSG Cooler is surprisingly small and does not have the size or efficiency to exchange heat before it exits the cooler and routes to the DSG oil/water heat exchanger.If the engine coolant is hot and the DSG oil is hot, which is the case when driving cars with a higher output than stock, spirited or track use, this hot coolant now has little to no cooling effect on the DSG oil and DSG temperatures begin to rise… With a high oil temperature, the DSG is at risk of becoming damaged. To help prevent damage the DSG will begin to lower the torque, increase shift times and in extreme circumstances gears can be lost.     CSF All Aluminium Tripple Pass Radiator - MQB PlatformWith the MQB platform able to generate huge amounts of power, with an output increase of almost 30% achievable with intakes, exhausts, intercooler and software an often overlooked area for improvement is the factory engine water cooling system.  With such a substantial increase in output easily achievable it's easy to understand why the factory water radiator can struggle to exchange the heat from the engine and now exhaust gas heat from the integrated engine head exhaust manifold. It's not uncommon for these engines, whilst showing 90c on the coolant dial to actually be running in excess of 100c up to 110c during spirited driving when properly logged.  Whats more is that during spirited driving, whilst the engine water coolant temp becomes high so does the engine oil. It's not uncommon for engine oil temperatures to spike to over 130c-145c during spirited driving and struggles to reduce without substantial time spent cooling the car down. This is due to there being no factory engine oil cooler, so the factory water radiator has a lot of work to do.  Let's take a look at the stock cooler...  The Stock Cooler: 1-row 26mm core single-pass 7mm fin height  The stock cooler uses a single row, 26 mm core and is of a single pass design. This is a very thin core for this that does not make use of the available space efficiently which contributes to the cooling issues. After months of development, we have developed a solution which maximises the efficiency and of the space available whilst maintaining all of the factory mounting locations, hose locations etc for a direct replacement part, our specification is below...    CSF's All-Aluminium Triple Pass Water Radiator 2-row 42mm B-tube core Triple-pass design 6.5mm fin height  The CSF All-Aluminum Triple Pass Water Radiator utilises a 2-row 42mm core. Utilising all of the space between the condenser and radiator the core depth has been maximised and compatibility confirmed with large aftermarket intercoolers such as IE. The B-tube design maximises the tube efficiency in all areas, this tube design is stronger than 0-tubes less material can be used for a lighter more efficient heat transfer whilst surface area inside the tube is increased by 15% over 0-tubes.    The Triple Pass design means coolant passes across the core three times before it exits maximising the time the radiator has to exchange heat for the coolest outlet temperature. Finally, the 6.5mm fin height has been wind tunnel optimised in CSF's in-house wind tunnel, leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of the ultimate MQB Water Radiator solution.

Increased volume and surface area, bar and plate cores with end tanks specifically designed to promote even airflow all play a part in lowering temperatures; without negatively affecting pressure. REVO AIR INTERCOOLER MQB 1.8/2.0 TSI EA888 GEN3 The Revo Intercooler utilises unique design features to lower intake air temperatures, minimise pressure drop and allow the engine to produce impressive power and torque with Revo Software. The unique end tank profile promotes internal laminar flow by decreasing turbulence and increasing airspeed into the bar and plate core. This enhances charge air cooling giving you access to more power throughout the rev range. The limitations of the stock intercooler were apparent throughout testing. The stock part consistently struggled to manage charge air temperatures, even under normal driving conditions. The Revo Intercooler has been designed to improve on every restrictive element of the stock cooler, enhancing cooling efficiency by lowering intake air temperatures by up to 36ºC vs. the MQB Golf R intercooler, allowing you to drive harder, for longer. KEY FEATURES Bar & Plate Core Design Fully Cast End Tanks OEM Fitment Up to 51% Increased Core Volume Over 36ºC Lower AIT INCREASED CORE VOLUME The Revo Intercooler was built around a simple principle; create a cooler that can keep up with your demand for power. Designed from the ground up, the Revo Intercooler has much larger core volume than the OEM part and offers perfect fitment, improving cooling by utilising the full volume of the stock location space as well as cold ambient air from the front of the vehicle. END TANK DESIGN The stock end tanks are inefficiently designed and create turbulent air in corners. These sections create a natural flow distribution but slow charge air and increase pressure drop. The Revo end tank geometry maintains the largest possible cross-sectional flow area to and from the core. Coupled with a cast interior surface finish, the Revo end tanks allow air to flow freely without obstructions from turbulent air pockets found in the OE intercooler. End tanks play an important part in maintaining pressure and work in harmony with the core to promote airflow, the Revo end tanks are designed to offer the optimal balance between both of these key features.   BAR AND PLATE CORE Designed with a bar and plate core to maximise the efficiency of heat transfer, the pressure drop is also controlled as the air meets less resistance compared to that of a tube and fin alternative. The Revo Intercooler also features carefully specified fin geometry to maximise cooling properties while minimising flow restriction. The ambient core side utilises louvred fins to slow ambient air flow which improves heat transfer, while the charge core side features an offset internal fin design to balance surface area and air resistance to minimise pressure drop.   SILICONE HOSES Supplied with stronger oil resistant silicone hoses, the Revo Intercooler can be installed using the stock pipework or recommended Revo Intercooler pipework. The internal diameter of each silicone is precisely matched to the outer diameter of the ribbed inlet and outlet connections along with a unique Flush Fit design, allowing a smooth transition between components.   BRACKETS To ensures precision fitment, Only Revo offers a CNC machined bracket system. Produced to a superior tolerance than that of a cast mounting system, this unique feature also ensures that the supporting brackets are strong and less prone to failure.   RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT All Revo products are designed in-house using the latest 3D printing technology, CAD and CFD software. Every product is rigorously tested utilising an in-house Hub dyno and Revo data acquisition software. The Revo intercooler minimises turbulence while maximising heat transfer, promoting cooler air temperatures and low-pressure drop. This helps retains power and torque throughout of the rev range as highlighted during controlled Dyno testing. The Revo Intercooler was tested in-house to compare the performance against that of the stock Intercooler. First tested on a vehicle running the OEM Intercooler with Revo Stage 2 software, a Revo air intake system and Milltek downpipe, the Revo Intercooler was then installed and tested in the same controlled environment to highlight the benefits of enhanced cooling. PERFORMANCE DATA Golf GTI with Revo Stage 2 Software, Golf R intercooler and Carbon Series Front Scoop Showing the last of five consecutive dyno runs, the efficiency of the Revo Intercooler over the OEM Golf R intercooler is highlighted. With max gains of +10 HP & +20NM Torque, along with increased performance throughout the entire rev range, the stock intercooler struggles to effectively function in comparison to the Revo Intercooler which remained consistent throughout, losing just 2% peak power over the 5 runs compared to 5% on the stock cooler. INLET TEMPERATURE This is a metric used to confirm that testing on the Revo MQB Intercooler. This is used to show that the air temperatures going into the intercooler were similar for each test, confirming that outlet temperatures shown in the following graphs are purely down to differences in intercooler design/construction. As can be seen, the inlet temperatures during testing were hotter on the Revo Intercooler, yet the Revo intercooler produced the lower outlet temps proving the cooling efficiency. OUTLET TEMPERETURE This graph illustrates the increased cooling performance of the Revo intercooler vs OEM Golf R intercooler over all five runs.
