The Racingline Performance Oil Catch Tank & Oil Management System is the ultimate oil separating catch can system for MQB EA888 Gen3 2.0T engine cars. Not all catch cans are created equal. The Racingline Performance system has a dual function: as well as routing undesirable oil and moisture vapours through a sophisticated system of internal baffles and a fully baffled catch can, the Racingline Performance Oil Catch Can System also takes our track & motorsport experience of these engines to correct the problem of oil build-up in the top of the engine during high-G braking. The kit includes our Engine Breather Plate – just as the Golf and SEAT TCR EA888 touring cars use to avoid the oil surge issue. So not only does the Racingline Peformance Oil Management System condense these vapours into the bottom of the tank, keeping a purer air/fuel mixture and avoiding the problem of slowly filling intercooler and intake pipework with oil. The Engine Breather Plate included in the kit also protects your engine by helping to eradicate oil starvation in very high G braking – an issue when used on track, leading to several engine failures in Racingline Performance UK’s testing experience. AIRTEC Motorsport’s solution to developing a catch can kit specifically for the Golf R model utilises the available space to integrate seamlessly within the engine bay. It features a high-quality, laser cut bracket finished in powder coated black, which allows the catch can to attach neatly in place and also locates the new washer fluid tank filler. The can itself features an internal micron filter, baffle and dipstick and detaches to allow easy maintenance. It comes with a comprehensive fitting kit that includes all fixtures and fittings, as well as a detailed installation guide.   Why do I need a catch can?The original oil breather set up can cause issues with carbon build-up inside the engine’s intake system over time. It forms an oily sludge that covers parts of the intake and inlet valves, which reduces air flow and therefore performance. Once the build-up has formed, it’s a costly process to clean, so it makes sense to take preventative measures in order to avoid carbon build-up forming. Following on from the success of our billet catch can kit for the Golf Mk5 and Golf Mk6, we are pleased to present another of our latest kits for the Golf Mk7R and Audi S3. If your engine bay looks like the image below, you will need to also purchase the washer bottle. In house testing has proven our oil catch can kit's ability to effectively reduce sludge and carbon build up, allowing the Golf Mk7R and Audi S3 engine to both breathe and perform more efficiently. It can therefore be viewed as a genuine performance enhancing product and one we recommend to any owner to seriously consider, particularly if they are planning more advanced power tuning later. The 0.4l (400cc) catch tank boasts a slew of features intended to make it both easy to check and simple to drain. Included is a dipstick for level inspection and a well-placed drain tap. Throughout the development of this product the design has been carefully considered, hence its inner tube which is constructed from anti-static smooth fuel resistant nitrile rubber. This is paired with an outer cover made from reinforced stainless-steel wire braid (a Forge specialty), specifically a partial inner braid and a full cover outer braid.
