    The Forge RS valve has been specifically designed and engineered to offer extreme flow rate capability, where other valves are just not up to it. Often when engines have been tuned by installing larger turbos or even software upgrades improved turbo response can be acheived by fitting the RS valve which has the greater internal mass air flow specification utilising an amazing 50mm (2") bore. For fine tuning there is a variable spring preload incorporated and a ratchet type top adjuster that will allow for the positive and precise adjustment that your driving style demands. To ease installation a 360 degree adjustable vacuum hose connector. With a choice of inlet and outlet connections the RS valve can be matched to your engine perfectly. This valve incorporates a unique conical, progressive rate spring that can allow for the retention of boost pressure from 7 to 22 PSI depending on the individual user's application and level of adjustment. If you are intending on running over 22psi then you will need the uprated spring which is included with the kit. This unique spring design will also allow for unrestricted piston travel and flow volume regardless of the amount of pre-load adjustment added to the spring. Other manufacturers valves using cylindrical springs with adjustable pre-load often experience restricted piston travel and flow volume within the normal range of valve adjustment.     A blow off or recirculation valve (be it piston, diaphragm or OEM) will be activated by vacuum or electricity, and is designed to improve the drivability of your vehicle giving you maximum power when you want it. All types rely on an internal spring in order to maintain a seal so that you have boost pressure when it is needed - If the spring is too weak, you lose power. Previously, when an engine was "chipped" or the boost pressure increased, the tuner would need to fit a stronger spring, carefully matched to the increased boost. More recently, with the introduction of electric valves, a tuner would fit an aftermarket replacement valve driven by pressure with an uprated spring. All these remedies rely on the careful matching of the spring rate to the turbocharger boost. This would need to be done each time there was a software, and in some cases hardware change. For those running switchable software programs, there was no perfect solution and a compromise spring was normally installed, which would often not perform correctly. Forge are pleased to offer a fit and forget solution. No more changing springs, turning adjusters, or fine tuning.     This replacement actuator utilises the latest piston design to irradicate the failures associated with the OEM diaphragm actuators and is supplied complete with bracket ready to install. This actuator was recently put through some independant dyno tests by the guys at Dragsport Magazine for their September 2009 issue. Here is what they had to say: While the Mitsubishi Evo X is an amazing vehicle in stock form, it also responds well to tuning with quality aftermarket components. In stock form, our 2008 Evo X delivered 271.4 wheel horsepower. With the adition of just three parts, we were able to generate an additional 25.5 horsepower and 19.0 lb/ft of torque to the wheels (intake + 5hp, exhaust +10hp, and hard pipe kit +5hp). Recently, we decided to treat the Evo X to a second round of upgrades. First we re-established the baseline power at 289 on a different chassis dyno that tends to be a bit conservative in its figures. Since the Evo X would experience erratic boost delivery throughout the powerband, we selected a Forge Motorsport wastegate actuator. With the stock actuator, the boost would climb to 19 PSI before falling to 15 PSI at redline. With the Forge unit installed, the engine was able to maintain 20 PSI before falling to only 18 PSI at redline. With the increased boost pressure, peak power jumped to 302 horsepower and 304 lb-ft of torque to the wheels; a gain of 13 horsepower over the previous run. The largest power gain was noted at 6800 rpm with a gain of 47 horsepower over stock. Here are the dyno results for Power and Torque to see for yourselves.
