*DOES NOT FIT AUTOMATIC CARS* Designed for the Fiat 500 Abarth T-jet, a front mounting intercooler with all associated hoses, pipes, and fittings, that replaces the existing side mounted intercoolers. This unit was developed to be suitable for those running standard turbos and ECU software (standard vehicle + 10 hp, +10 ft/lbs torque) and also those with larger turbo conversions. Whilst the factory set up using the two intercoolers in parallel is reasonably efficient, the removal of the long lengths of small-bore pipework, quickly lowers the circuit resistance, allowing you to benefit from the true capabilities of the turbocharger. Our development engineers have managed to increase the intercooler surface area by 100% and also increase the volume by 22%. This improvement along with sitting the intercooler at the front of the vehicle to maximise air flow and cooling efficiency, we really do have winner! Replaces very restrictive original twin intercooler setup with lengthy pipework, with an AIRTEC design high flow 60mm core intercooler and a shorter alloy boost pipe kit. We keep fast turbo spool up by using 50mm pipework from turbo to intercooler and 60mm out of the intercooler to help match the throttle body, this combination gives fast turbo spool up coupled with maximum power output. After installing our revolutionary MVT Intercooler, engine performance improved significantly. With the Abarth now producing 202.2hp & 310.9nm of torque, that’s an increase of +17.6hp & 31.2nm of torque! What’s more impressive is the cooling power of MVT. Using sophisticated data logging software, we measured stock intake temperatures at 44°c. With MVT, intake temperatures dropped by more than 38% down to 27°c. As a result, providing huge tuning potential and greater reliability when combined with a remap & supporting modifications. The perfect addition to any track or modified road car! We also went one step further by placing temperature probes into the inlet and outlet of the Intercooler. This allows us to accurately compare the difference in temperatures as the charged air passes though the core. Data for the stock intercooler showed us charged air temperatures dropped from 209.4°c(inlet) to 63.8°c(outlet).
