    Racingline Subframe Torque Link Mount – Aluminium Subframes Only To harness your power increases, and transfer that power to the road or track where you need it, Racingline Performance Engine Mounts will give a much more solid drive, and crucially give additional durability. The Racingline Performance Engine Mounts are certainly not one of the most exciting or visual modifications that you can do to your car! But they are truly one of the most worthwhile for anyone who appreciates the driving dynamics of their car. Almost everyone who tries these mounts on a Golf or Scirocco wants them. WHAT DO THE ENGINE MOUNTS DO? The whole engine and gearbox is located in only three places. One at engine-side plus another at the end of the gearbox which support the weight of the whole drivetrain, plus a third torque arm underneath the engine to contain the fore-aft movement (often called the pendulum or dog-bone mount). The standard car uses very compliant rubber in these mounts to give a soft take-up of power and isolate the cabin from drivetrain noise. For a daily driven standard car, these bushings do a good job of keeping cabin vibration to a minimum. But when you ask more of these mounts, with higher power or hard driving, the flex in the bushes becomes very noticeable. This gives a slightly loose feeling to the drivetrain and an increased chance of wheel-hop under hard acceleration as the whole engine and ‘box assembly judders. If your car produces high power, or has covered quite a few road miles, or is driven hard, the softness of these three standard rubber mounts allows more and more movement as you come on and off the power. With worn mounts, we have even seen failures of the exhaust manifold and driveshafts as the whole drivetrain shifts around under load. WHAT DIFFERENCE DO THE Racingline Performance MOUNTS MAKE? The Racingline Performance engine mounts stiffen the whole location of the drivetrain greatly to give a much crisper feeling to your car. This means no more jerky behaviour on and off the throttle or when you change gear, and all-but eliminates ‘wheel hop’ off the line. Of course, a bit more noise from the drivetrain comes into the cabin, but most keen drivers love the sense that they are more ‘connected’ to their car. As opposed to some aftermarket ‘push in’ bushes which crudely fill the voids in the factory mounts, the Volkswagen units are completely redesigned replacement mount assemblies. We specify a stiff urethane of 75A durometer which allows some movement within the mounts, and filters much of the drivetrain’s vibration but with a design that very significantly reduces the movement on each. For most road cars, we’d recommend the lower engine mount on its own, leaving the two upper mounts standard. This makes a huge difference to how the car drives, and is a pretty minimal difference to the cabin refinement. The lower engine mount on its own is one of our most popular upgrades for Golfs and Sciroccos. For more heavily modified, track and motorsport cars, all three mounts should be upgraded. And the higher your power, the harder you drive, the more important it is to protect it. Under hard driving, the factory DSG oil/water cooler is easily overwhelmed. Problems start to occur when oil cannot dissipate its collected heat fast enough and the oil begins to thin and degrade – losing its lubrication properties. When this happens, the DSG will protect itself and begin to lower the torque, increase shift times and in extreme circumstances even loose gear selection. The RacingLine kit solves this problem: by adding in an additional air/oil cooler positioned right in the airflow at the front of the car, oil temperatures are reduced by around 15  – 20   degrees centigrade (of course dependant on how the car is being used, ambient temps and state of tune). The kit uses a clever design which retains the factory oil/water cooling and adds to it with the thermostatically-controlled front-mounted cooler – doubling up your cooling capability when it’s needed with less heat transfer into the water system. Only when the oil exceeds normal temperatures, the thermostat opens. Our new Stage 2 ‘EVO’ Monoblock Performance Brake Upgrade is an ultra-durable braking solution developed exclusively for fast-road and occasional-track VWG cars. We’ve developed these brakes for street use from our decades of motorsport experience, and, as you’d expect, they provide outstanding stopping power again and again. Yet all at an affordable price. Our lightweight Monoblock one-piece construction is usually reserved for the highest-specification motorsport kits, being vastly stiffer and lighter than the original calipers. Our precision-engineered, Propshaft Bearing Alignment Kit centralises the factory centre support bearing carrier by cutting out the enlarged factory hole tolerances. Meaning your propshaft is held in perfect true orientation at all times. The oversize holes on the factory brackets are designed to allow several degrees of ‘twist’ on the centre bearing carrier, causing unnecessary long-term stresses on the prop, bushes and bearings. That may be great to help the factory with quick production-line assembly, but will lead to accelerated wear on the bush and rubber housing from misalignment. Every hard launch & shift provokes movement in the drivetrain – over time this risks shifting the factory prop mount out of alignment.     Racingline Billet Underbody Tunnel Braces Want to sharpen up your MQB handling responses? MQB Billet Underbody Tunnel Braces mount under the body to help fight body flex. This improves rigidity to help refine the handling, whilst also providing valuable extra clearance for larger diameter exhaust system. What do they do? MQB cars rely on thin stamped-steel OE tunnel braces underneath in an attempt to reinforce the body’s weaker points and limit chassis flex under demanding loads. Our new Billet Underbody Braces replace these weak braces with intricately machined aluminium replacements, greatly improving stiffness, giving much better exhaust clearance and even look great! CNC Machined from a solid billet of 6061-T6 Aluminium, each brace has been engineered to remove unnecessary material whilst still increasing rigidity. With any 3″ diameter exhaust system, the OE brace gives insufficient clearance. So rather than removing the tunnel brace, our new Rear Tunnel Brace at last gives you the option to replace it, giving you the clearance you need plus maintaining crucial body stiffness. Despite adding stiffness, this improved dynamic performance comes without sacrificing any ride quality or introducing any additional noise, vibration, or harshness into the cabin. The brace designs mean that installation is simple, using existing body mounting points with no drilling or trim removal required, ensuring fitment is completely reversible.
