A direct replacement part that offers increases in performance and response, the enlarged turbo inlet elbow features a freer-flowing design with an increased internal diameter. How it worksThe original elbow gradually tapers down from the 63mm induction pipe to just 48.5mm as it enters the turbo, despite the turbo’s inlet measuring 51mm in diameter. This causes an unnecessary restriction within the intake side that hampers flow and limits throttle response. Our AIRTEC Motorsport direct replacement elbow features a CNC-machined flange with a correctly matched 51mm diameter, therefore removing the stepped restriction. The high-quality silicone hose instantly tapers to meet the 63mm diameter intake, therefore allowing the maximum amount of internal flow with increases of nearly 10%. The elbow upgrade includes all fixtures and fittings, as well as detailed instructions. The increased volume and improved design works to reduce restriction and improve flow to the turbo, providing an increase in power and response. The duct offers a simple solution to improving the differential’s cooling ability, which helps to ensure rising temperatures don’t cause any damage. How it worksWhen the oil inside the differential gets hot, its ability to lubricate and protect both the gears and LSD is reduced. This is more likely to occur during extended periods of hard use, such as on track, so it is beneficial to stabilise and reduce temperatures in order to limit premature wear. The AIRTEC Motorsport cooling duct works by directing fast-flowing air passing underneath the car towards the differential’s cooling fins, which rely purely on air flow to shed heat effectively. By providing more sustained air flow to these fins, the differential’s cooling capacity and ability to withstand heat soak is increased, which therefore allows it to better control operating temperatures in comparison to standard. Our updated Version 2 design is made from high-quality, injection moulded plastic that is both lightweight and durable. A direct replacement kit that offers increases in performance and response, the enlarged boost pipe kit features a freer-flowing design with a increased internal diameter on both the hot side and cold side. Cold SideOur comprehensive eight-piece kit begins with a gentle taper from the 40mm turbo outlet that increases by 25% to reach 50mm as it meets the AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler inlet side. Hot SideFrom the intercooler’s 60mm outlet side, the pipework tapers back down to meet the throttle body’s 49.5mm size, maintaining a 53mm minimum as it reaches the new cast alloy throttle body elbow. In doing so, it offers up to a 39% increase in internal diameter during the most restrictive part of the OEM pipework (38mm) just before the throttle body elbow. This increased overall internal volume and improved design works to reduce restriction and improve flow from the turbo and to the inlet, providing an increase in power and response. Made from high quality aluminium, the kit includes a revised throttle body elbow, a series of high-quality silicone connectors and all pipework is finished in powder-coated black for a subtle OEM+ look. Developed in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK, we’ve created a comprehensive solution to improving flow whilst maintaining low intake temperatures, which improves performance, response, sound and aesthetics within the engine bay. Having previously designed a shielded induction kit for the Yaris GR model, we were keen to develop a more extensive intake package to offer further improvements. Using our experience from developing and producing our WRC-inspired Closed Air Induction System (CAIS) for the Focus RS that is proven to dramatically increase power and torque, we embarked on developing an entire replacement air box carefully moulded to our design in a GRP composite material to help thermal efficiency. Sealed inside is a large Group-A style cotton air filter that draws fresh air solely from the front intake, ensuring minimal heat soak issues and the lowest possible intake temperatures. Our design also features a replacement MAF housing and rear intake pipe, both 80mm in diameter and finished in black powder-coated finish. The kit comes complete with high quality Pro Hoses silicone connectors, as well as all fixtures and fittings required for a simple installation. The kit is a direct replacement that comes complete pre-built and ready to install. It requires no additional drilling or cutting to fit and comes with detailed fitting instructions.   DYNO TESTEDDeveloped on our own comprehensively modified AIRTEC Motorsport Yaris GR, with the Closed Air Induction System the car produced 335bhp, 5hp more than our open filter induction kit, whilst our thermal imaging camera showed it continued to repel heat build-up from the local area.  Overall, the result is a complete kit that offers increased power, improved throttle response, heightened induction noise and a more pleasing look to the engine bay that is perfectly suited to the GR.
