    As part of our expanding Fiesta ST180 product range, AIRTEC Motorsport are proud to launch our RS-style 76mm top induction pipe suitable for track or fast road use. Inspired by the design of our Focus RS top induction pipe, we’ve created a large, free flowing pipe that joins the turbo inlet to the intake with a substantial increase in overall internal volume to reduce restriction and improve flow. A direct replacement part for the ST180, it offers increases in performance and response, as well as sound and aesthetics. Made from high quality aluminium for an improved look and feel, the pipe maintains a constant 76mm internal diameter throughout, compared to the 70mm standard item, and features a design with less bends and restrictions. It also features an AIRTEC plaque and is available in a powder-coated black finish for a subtle OEM+ look. The comprehensive package includes Pro Hoses silicone connectors and fixtures and fittings, which makes installation a simple task. There is also the option to add an AIRTEC Motorsport induction kit, featuring an aluminium intake pipe with billet MAF sensor boss, laser cut shield and a choice of a cotton of foam air filter. The kit therefore offers a great compromise in the ability to produce a significant cooling improvement over a Stage 1 intercooler, without having to bite the bullet for an all-out Stage 3 track intercooler package. The replacement intercooler fits with very little modification, with only slight trimming to the inside of the bottom grille required in some applications where the original bumper may have sagged over time. Full height core design gives the look and the performance on a smaller budget with good efficiency up to the 300bhp mark, ideal for those with hybrid turbos to keep those inlet temps down. TEST TIME: To better represent how the different intercoolers in our range work in real world conditions, we tested our Stage 1, 2 and 3 items on our development Fiesta ST track car at an independent dyno (WG Motorworks). This revealed that the Stage 1 and Stage 2 intercoolers initially show a similar and steady 20 degree increase in intake temperatures during an extended, loaded run, whilst the Stage 3 offers a lesser increase. However, when viewed on the power graph, the Stage 2 demonstrated its bigger capacity over the Stage 1 and continued to make power while the Stage 1 became restricted. The tubular manifold for the Fiesta ST 180 will see best performance gains when used with a stage 3 setup, hybrid or big turbo setups will see the best imrpovements. Stage 1 cars - A standard manifold on a Stage 1 Fiesta will perform perfectly, an upgraded manifold on a stage 1 car will see faster turbo spool but will not see a huge improvement over standard. Stage 2 cars - Higher power cars will see faster turbo spool and some power increase of around 3-5 bhp. This is very hard to prove on a dyno on a stage 2 car. Stage 3 cars - A turbular manifold is a must have for any stage 3 Fiesta! The standard manifold will be finding it hard to release the air with the manifold pressure not being able to cope wit hthe power. A tubular manifold has a massive increase in air flow which could see big gains compared to standard.
