GFB T9363 DV+ Upgrade Diverter / Recirc Valve - Vauxhall Insignia A (MK1) 2.0T

Description

GET BETTER PERFORMANCE, FASTER BOOST RECOVERY AND DON’T PAY FOR WHAT YOU DON’T NEED!

GFB’s DV+ solution couldn’t be simpler - keep what works and replace what doesn’t.

GFB expands the DV+ range with a direct-fit performance diverter solution for GM vehicles with the 1.0T, 1.4T and 2.0 LTG engine. The solenoid coil itself from the factory-fitted diverter is great so why replace it? The weak point is the valve mechanism itself. GFB’s DV+ solves this problem by replacing the valve parts with an anodised billet aluminum housing, fitted with a brass piston machined to exacting tolerances.

As an additional benefit, the solenoid in the DV+ assembly no longer directly drives the movement of the piston, instead controlling the movement of the piston with boost pressure. This is known as “pilot operation”, which greatly increases the actuation forces within the valve, improving operation speed and reliability. Plus, the piston can now move progressively in response to how much boost pressure it needs to vent, instead of only fully open or closed like the factory diverter.

The result is sharper throttle response, lightning-fast valve actuation, the ability to hold as much boost as you can throw at it, and operation so reliable it comes with a lifetime warranty! Read the full DV+ story below.

Other manufacturers’ products replace the entire diverter and solenoid, resulting in a significantly (and unnecessarily) higher priced product. Others simply replace the valve inside the factory solenoid without utilizing the pilot actuation system, which doesn’t solve any of the throttle response issues of the factory diverter, whilst being slower and more likely to stick.

GFB’s DV+ solution on the other hand is more responsive, less expensive, and doesn’t cause compressor surge / turbo flutter / chirp (those sounds are a sign the diverter’s NOT doing what it’s supposed to!).

The DV+ story: Better performance – More reliable

The GM 1.0T, 1.4T and 2.0 LTG engines use an ECU controlled solenoid-type diverter valve which is common on many modern turbo engines. However, even though these types of valves have been around since the mid 2000s, they still have significant reliability and performance shortcomings that the only the DV+ can solve.

Problem 1: Leaking

The factory diverter uses a piston that owing to its moulded plastic design cannot be effectively sealed. This results in leaks that are large enough to cause slow spool up and high RPM boost drop off.

The DV+ ensures your hard-earned boost gets to the engine by using a bonded silicone face seal and a precision piston-to-bore clearance and surface finish.

Problem 2: Reliability

In the factory diverter valve, the solenoid is required to move the piston through a large range of travel, which significantly weakens the magnetic force that the solenoid can apply to open the piston. This means a weak return spring must be used, leaving little headroom to accommodate increases in boost pressure or friction in the valve assembly without causing sticking and reliability problems.

These issues also exist in other aftermarket products that retain the factory solenoid and continue to direct-drive the piston over a long stroke.

The DV+ solves this issue by re-purposing the solenoid to control a short-stroke pilot valve for super-fast reaction time and higher actuation forces. Using the pilot valve, the DV+ uses boost pressure to open AND close the piston. This means the acting forces are directly proportional to boost pressure, and therefore the movement of the piston can respond accordingly. If boost is low, the piston only opens a small amount. If boost is high, it opens all the way. Once the solenoid turns off, the boost pressure then slams the piston shut. This way, the DV+ completely eliminates sticking as a result of friction and weak solenoid forces, and blowing open at high boost.

The DV+ is the original patented performance diverter solution, offering faster response, better performance, and unrivalled reliability with a lifetime warranty.

The GFB DV+ is the original and still the best complete performance solution!

Valuable Information Before You Purchase

  • DV+

    DV+

When you want no noise, no nonsense, just performance

European manufacturers are pushing their engines to the limit. Get a DV to match.

GFB's DV+ diverter valve range offers a direct-fit performance solution for the weak factory diverter valves used on many modern vehicles. By retaining the factory ECU control and recirculating the vented air, the DV+ is a purely performance-orientated product.

GFB’s DV+ design solves the longevity and boost leaking issues that are common with factory diverter valves, and also changes the operation method to “pilot actuation” to ensure better performance on stock or modified engines.

Furthermore, these benefits won’t cost you the Earth! Rather than throwing the entire factory diverter valve system in the bin (like other manufacturer’s “solutions”), the DV+ keeps what works and replaces what doesn’t. It retains the factory solenoid and ECU control to ensure simple installation and reliable operation.

  • VTA

    VTA

    Performance and Sound!

VTA blow-off valves are constructed with the same materials and valve mechanism as the DV+, and they offer the exact same performance and boost holding. However, venting to atmosphere gives it the signature blow-off sound, whilst the DV+ keeps things quiet.

Competitors' products for the same vehicles that make sound (i.e. BOV "Spacers") typically retain the performance deficiencies of the factory diverter valve, delete the ECU control, or require frequent maintenance and rebuilds. The VTA on the other hand is the complete package - performance, fit, reliability, and sound!

Like the DV+, GFB’s VTA range of BOVs utilise GFB’s proven TMS Technology to ensure rapid boost recovery on gearshift and optimum throttle response, as well as superior boost holding. However, where the DV+ and the VTA range differ is what they do with the vented air. VTA BOVs vent to atmosphere to make the signature turbo blow-off sound, where the DV+ recirculates the air to keep it quiet.

Each valve in the VTA range is designed specifically for the applications we list them for, ensuring the best fit and performance. Most of the VTA range are designed for use on cars with solenoid type factory diverter valves, and in those cases the VTA kit will retain the solenoid and ECU control. Like the DV+ though, it replaces the weak factory valve internals to ensure strength and reliability, especially in high boost applications.

Other versions of the VTA are designed for use on cars that do not have any kind of factory fitted diverter valve. Vehicle manufacturers have deleted the troublesome solenoid type diverter valve from some of the newer models, but this leads to turbo compressor surge which can be taxing on the turbo in the long run. The VTA valves for these cars are designed to re-introduce the function of a diverter/blow-off valve to help protect the turbo in the long term and provide a blow-off sound.

  • DVX

    DVX

    Performance with Volume Control

If you’re looking for the performance benefits and fit of a DV+, but also want an adjustable blow-off sound like the Respons, the DVX is the only choice.

The DVX range covers vehicles that can’t fit or use valves like the Respons or Deceptor Pro II, and each version in the range is designed specifically for its application, ensuring the best fit and performance.

Increased boost holding and throttle response with total volume control!

GFB’s DVX range takes the extremely popular DV+ Diverter Valve performance and fit, then adds our patented Venting Bias Adjustment Systems from the Respons range of valves. This feature allows you to infinitely vary how much air is recirculated, and how much is vented to atmosphere, giving you total control over your blow-off sound – completely adjustable from silent to ear shattering!

The DVX is not just a showy noise maker either. Using GFB’s proven TMS Technology, whilst retaining ECU control, the DVX solves all the performance and reliability issues that are common with factory diverters AND gives you a blow-off sound that’s completely adjustable!

  • Mach 2

    Mach 2

Single Outlet Valve for Recirc or Atmosphere Venting

Simply add an Atmospheric Conversion Kit for maximum noise (available separately).

All the Performance With or Without the Noise!

GFB’s Mach 2 utilises GFB’s proven TMS Technology to ensure rapid boost recovery on gearshift and optimum throttle response, as well as the ability to withstand boost pressures of 100psi+. Put simply, it can hold more boost than any turbo could produce.

With its single venting outlet, the Mach 2 is configured from the factory for full recirculation (i.e. plumb back, diverter, bypass) venting for the performance-minded who just want the benefits without the sound.

  • Hybrid

    Hybrid

Dual Outlet Valve for Combined Recirc and Atmosphere Venting - Three Valves in One!

Want it loud? Quiet? In between? GFB Hybrid kits include a pair of blanking plugs that allow the valve to be configured for full recirculation venting, 50/50 (atmosphere / recirc), or full atmosphere venting.

All the Performance with the Noise!

The Hybrid valve is back! In 1999, GFB’s first Hybrid valve pioneered the dual port design, which was so successful the technology has since been adopted by most other brands. By “staging” the two venting outlets, at low valve lifts most of the air is recirculated. As the car is driven harder, the valve opens further and more of the atmosphere venting port is exposed for a louder sound.

As a benefit, this system makes it possible to use these valves on cars with sensitive airflow meters that often suffer issues such as backfiring and/or stalling, whilst still achieving the signature blow-off sound.

  • RESPONS TMS

    RESPONS TMS

The Evolution of the Dual-Outlet BOV - With or Without Noise

All the performance with or without the noise!

If cars like yours typically suffer issues such as backfiring and stalling when using a fixed-ratio atmosphere-venting BOV, the Respons can help. By adjusting the venting bias to suit the car you can achieve a blow-off sound without having to put up with the issues.

Like all GFB valves, the Respons utilises GFB’s proven TMS Technology to ensure rapid boost recovery on gearshift and optimum throttle response, as well as the ability to withstand boost pressures of 100psi+. Put simply, it can hold more boost than any turbo could produce.

How GFB’s patented venting bias adjustment works

Twisting the adjusting ring opens up the atmo port, whilst the recirc port is simultaneously closed. This results in possible venting ratios ranging from 100% recirc, right through to 100% atmosphere and anywhere in between.
