As part of our expanding Audi product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our RS6 C8 intercooler upgrades suitable for track or fast road use. In order to ensure there is no noticeable loss in performance during extended periods of hard driving, we have developed larger capacity, freer-flowing intercoolers to replace the smaller and more restrictive OEM items. The original twin intercoolers are mounted between the bumper and inner arch liners and utilise designated air guides on both the front and back to help direct air to and from the intercooler effectively. Wishing to keep these in place, we opted to concentrate on creating a new core design that was the same width and height but deeper to help increase cooling ability. The result are direct replacement intercoolers that reuse all the original hoses, mounting points and air guides for simplicity but offer a huge 21% increase in overall capacity in comparison to the OEM intercoolers. To date, there is no other company offering a gearbox oil cooler on the market, but our kit hasn’t just been designed to help cool the transmission, it also helps remove heat from the engine’s cooling system, which helps reduce crucial operating temperatures. This is because from the factory, there is a simple heat exchanger/oil Modine located by the gearbox that uses the engine’s coolant to help cool the gearbox oil. The original intercooler is wide but shallow and significantly obstructed by the radar sensor and air duct, which are located directly in front of the intercooler core and restricts air flow. We concentrated on using the available space to create a core that fitted bedside the radar sensor but was much deeper. We then utilised the remaining space to produce a freer-flowing end tank design. The result is a core that’s a huge 80% deeper than the original, offering a massive 88% increase in overall capacity in comparison to the OEM intercooler and there’s also a significant increase in unobstructed frontal area, which allows it to make the most of the air flow provided. It’s also the only intercooler available on the market that offers 15% larger inlet and outlets, increasing to 60mm from the standard 52mm found on the original intercooler to reduce restriction. The kit is supplied with Pro Hoses silicone pipework, which joins to the OEM boost pipe on the outlet/cold side and replaces the pipework going to the inlet/hot side to further improve flow. The pipework also replaces the original O-ringed flanges with larger silicone hoses to improve flow and increase internal area.   As part of our expanding Audi product range, proud to launch our enlarged cold side pipe kit for the RS3 8V kit for fast road or track use. Designed to match our enlarged turbo elbow, our in-house design engineer team have created an enlarged pipework kit to replace the entire cold side, from the intercooler all the way to the throttle body. From the intercooler, our high-quality Pro Hoses silicone boost hose tapers up from 70mm to maintain 80mm all the way to the elbow, which equates to a 23% increase in comparison to the original pipework. Our AIRTEC Motorsport replacement cast aluminium elbow is nearly 10% bigger than standard and measures 85mm at its widest point, offering a significant improvement in flow and internal capacity. This improves throttle response and reduces restriction, which is key for those chasing increased power from their cars. With improved flow and increased strength over the original plastic items, our charge pipes link the turbos to the charge cooler and are suited to modified BMW M3, M4 and M2 Competition models for track or fast road use. The pipes have been designed to improve the overall internal dimeter and flow of the original OEM pipes, which flatten considerably where they pass over the top of the engine. The original OEM pipes are also made from a lightweight plastic, and with the increased boost pressures associated with a remap or hybrid turbos, the plastic seams can split and form a hairline crack. This is often invisible to the eye, but it’s an issue that will affect the engine’s performance and the turbos’ longevity. The AIRTEC Motorsport replacement pipes are constructed from alloy, so they will not fail with higher boost pressures and maintain a 57mm internal dimeter from the start to finish. Both pipes also feature a 1/8NPT port fitting suitable for a methanol injection set up, and the exterior of the pipes are finished in a subtle black powder coat. The kit features two silicone joiners as well as two CNC-machined connectors to house the original BMW O-rings, with adapters for the replacement fixtures and fittings that come as part of the kit. Fitting takes around 2 hours and the original engine cover can still be fitted in place, but for a perfect fit, we recommend enlarging the apertures slightly, which can be done neatly in order to retain the original look.
