    Following an extensive development process, AIRTEC Motorsport are proud to launch our oil cooler kit aimed at FK2 Civic Type R owners who require the ultimate cooling package to maintain steady running temperatures on track or fast road use. The ChallengeWhen modifying the FK2 Civic Type R to increase power and torque, an unavoidable by-product is the additional heat level that’s transferred to the car’s cooling system. During sustained hard use, this can become a substantial issue, as temperatures can increase enough to trigger the ECU’s safety features, reducing torque or even putting the car into a limp mode.  The SolutionDeveloped in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK we designed an oil cooler to help address the cooling issues when pushed hard. This cooler fits neatly behind the fog light (requires removal) and utilises our bespoke CAD-modelled air duct to force cold air through the core. To create a flow path and further improve cooling, air then exits via the inner arch liner (requires cutting). A pre-cut mesh shield is supplied for both the front and rear to protect the radiator from road debris damage. This can fit with our intercooler and auxiliary radiator/turbo cooler to create the ultimate cooling package. The comprehensive kit also features laser-cut and powder-coated brackets, high-quality braided lines with AN fittings as well as all fixtures and fittings, and detailed fitting instructions. Tested on Track20th June 2025 – Cadwell Park CircuitTest car fitted with air filter and Stage 1 remap producing a dyno proven 375bhpData logged via OBD port using Torque Pro app data recording and downloaded to PC. Before the auxiliary radiator and oil cooler were installed I would normally get approximately 5 to 6 laps, which is about 8 to 10 minutes of hard use before the oil temperature rose to around the 126 to 128°C. With the coolers installed, I can run at least 10 to 14 laps, which is over 20 minutes of hard use, and oil temperatures don’t normally go above 115°C. Your DSG gearbox is very susceptible to overheating, leading to protection mode that reduces engine power and eventually prevents gear selection. Why fit theDSG oil cooler kit? Our unique DSG Oil Cooler Kit is an essential fit for any hard-driven MQB 2.0 TSI car running high power levels or in hot climates. It's a complete ready to install package, using a clever sandwich plate design for straightforward and completely reliable installation.   Transferring more power and torque through the DSG gearbox generates ever more heat to dissipate.  Significantly increased oil temperatures means only one thing: a decrease in the ability for your DSG box to stay properly cooled, eventually causing power drop and gear selection issues.  Under hard driving, the factory DSG oil/water cooler is easily overwhelmed. Problems start to occur when oil cannot dissipate its collected heat fast enough and the oil begins to thin and degrade - losing its lubrication properties. When this happens, the DSG will protect itself and begin to lower the engine torque, increase shift times and eventually loose gear selection. ooThe RacingLine kit solves this problem: by adding in an additional air/oil cooler positioned right in the airflow at the front of the car, oil temperatures are reduced by around 15  - 20   degrees centigrade (of course dependant on how the car is being used, ambient temps and state of tune). The kit uses a clever design which retains the factory oil/water cooling and adds to it with the thermostatically-controlled front-mounted cooler - doubling up your cooling capability when it's needed with less heat transfer into the water system. Only when the oil exceeds normal temperatures, the thermostat opens. Oil temperature then drops significantly as it is pumped through the densely packed fins of the 10-row cooler’s large surface area mounted right in the cool airflow. FMOC11 has been developed with the same engineering expertise that is applied to our Mini Challenge Oil coolers, these see extensive driving over the race season calendar, so we are proud to give the I30N the same motorsport treatment. Lowering your oil temps on and off the track whilst providing a product that does not skimp on quality, so much so that it is backed by our Forge Lifetime Guarantee* With our extensive range of performance parts out on the market allowing the limits of the i30N/Veloster N to be pushed in the chase for top power gains, the addition of power and speed creates heat. Rising oil temperatures will result in only one outcome, a reduction of sufficient lubrication of your engines internal components. Therefore, the FMOC11 is a must have product for the keen driver, the location of the oil cooler radiator at the front of the vehicle’s radiator grill allows for superior air flow. During our development of this product we have seen oil temperatures reduced significantly. The Hyundai oil cooler has its inlet and outlets placed in the correct position for optimum flow , when oil coolers are fitted upside-down this can lead to cavitation (air locks) within the system, this can over a prolonged period of time lead to engine fatigue and potentially internal component damage due to insufficient engine lubrication. Unlike many oil cooler kits, the FMOC11 keeps the factory oil to water cooler in position. This essentially doubles your engines oil cooling. We’ve also developed the kit to use a bespoke laser cut aluminium bracket which makes for perfect fitment to the i30N crash bar.     This kit has been designed to address the weakness of the stock oil cooler – the cooler fitted to your car from Audi is aluminium, but the fittings on the ends of the cooler hoses are steel. The result is corrosion between the two different metals which cracks the fittings over time, causing a slow oil leak that gets worse with age, and eventually ends in a catastrophic failure of the oil cooler lines - and if you are unlucky, the engine too. Due to the corrosion setting in on the lines, they usually cannot be removed from the oil cooler without damaging it. This results in the need for the oil cooler and both lines to be replaced at a cost of over £1100 from the dealer, before you factor in consumables and labour to change the parts. Our solution uses tried and test products. It is a full replacement right from the fitting on the engine block which is precision made from 6082 billet aluminium, and then anodised to prevent any possibility of corrosion. This fitting leads to -12 AN Hose Technik black anodised aluminium fittings on Hose Technik braided lines with black overbraid. Cooling is accomplished by a 19 row Setrab oil cooler, the same manufacturer that supplies Audi and several F1 teams, again with a black finish. All the mating parts are similar materials and are tried and tested in Motorsport - there is no fear of corrosion affecting the fittings after a few years of use. The cooler is supported on a laser cut and powder coated frame that also holds the Audi fan control module in place. With everything finished in black, it makes for the ultimate stealth installation and unless you know what you are looking for, you won’t see it. The original remit of this replacement was to do away with all the troublesome Audi parts, which this kit accomplishes, but by relocating the oil cooler slightly higher than stock, we have also reduced the chances of damage from road debris.
