Aggressive muscle car looks, matched with a lively rear-wheel drive chassis and that thundering V8 make for an exciting machine. Cobra Sport was quick to spot the potential of the 5.0 V8 and developed a performance exhaust system for the original model. But they didn’t rest there. Over the last few months they’ve been busy working on a valved system that fully integrates with the Ford drive modes on facelift 2018+ vehicles. The end result is a beautifully made system that offers the best of both worlds. This innovative setup utilises both valves, something no other exhaust manufacturer has so far been able to achieve. It means Mustang owners can now take advantage of a thundering sound when they want it (especially in Sport+ mode), but at the flick of a dial, lower the volume for cruising. Like all Cobra Sport exhausts, the Mustang GT valved system is TIG-welded from high-quality T304 stainless steel. The mandrel-bent pipework is a full 3in (76.2mm) in diameter, which is larger than any competitor systems, to ensure maximum gas flow. This is usually due to the fact that the sensor is reading the added exhaust gas flow and it could identify this as a fault.
