This induction kit is for the Mk5 Golf R32. The filter is a PiperCross high flow Foam cone filter housed in a carbon fiber composite enclosed canister that connects directly to the an intake pickup at the front of the vehicle with an application specific inlet scoop. Everything is connected via high quality silicone couplers. The system creates a true ram air effect, and will only see airflow from outside the vehicle with absolutely no hot air from within the engine that could reduce power. The stock PCV on the TFSI engine is quite fragile and over time, or when running lots of boost, the diaphragm inside can rip which can result in excessive blowby entering the inlet manifold at idle (smoking from the tailpipe) or a loss of boost when driving, which can cause other problems. Traditionally we fit a catch can to remove the PCV entirely and catch the oil vapours from the engine as seen here: FMMK5CTC and FMMK5CT. But if you want a cheaper and simpler solution, you can delete the PCV and divert the breathing to the rear cam cover outlet only, by using our Forge Motorsport PCV Delete kit. Simply put, it removes the PCV and links the two internal ports together which emulates what happens inside the stock PCV when the engine is on boost, but without any fragile components to break or split. This completely isolates the inlet manifold from the cam cover. This recirculated air contains aerated oil from the crankcase which is burned by the engine. Turbo charged engines often draw significant amounts of oil into the engine through the PCV system.  This oil catch tank system removes aerated oil so that it can be drained and recycled. This oil catch tank kit is the product of many months of intensive research and development by our in-house development team, and the end result is by far the most complete oil collection system currently on the market. Not only is it beautifully designed, it has been created to capture the maximum amount of harmful contaminants, including oil deposits, unused fuel vapours and moisture, all of which would ordinarily make their way back through to the inlet of the engine. Extensive testing has proven our oil catch tank kit's ability to effectively reduce sludge and carbon build up, in turn allowing the Golf Mk5 GTI's TSI engine to both breathe and perform more efficiently.
