A direct replacement kit that offers increases in performance and response, the enlarged boost pipe kit features a freer-flowing design with a increased internal diameter on both the hot side and cold side. Our comprehensive kit begins with a gentle taper from the 40mm turbo outlet that increases by 25% to reach 50mm as it meets the AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler inlet side.From the intercooler’s 60mm outlet side, the pipework tapers back down to meet the throttle body’s 49.5mm size, maintaining a 53mm minimum as it reaches the new cast aluminium throttle body elbow. In doing so, it offers up to a 39% increase in internal diameter during the most restrictive part of the OEM pipework (38mm) just before the throttle body elbow. This increased overall internal volume and improved design works to reduce restriction and improve flow from the turbo and to the inlet, providing an increase in power and response. Made from high quality aluminium, the kit includes a revised throttle body elbow, a series of high-quality silicone connectors and all pipework is finished in powder-coated black for a subtle OEM+ look.   Freshly developed at AIRTEC HQ in the UK, we’re proud to launch our ultimate specification intercooler kit with integrated crash bar design aimed at modified Toyota Yaris GR Gen 2 owners who want the very highest levels of cooling efficiency and performance for track or fast road use. The ChallengeOur earlier Stage 1 intercooler was developed to cater for tuned Yaris GR models of the time and has become a popular upgrade. However, Yaris GR tuning potential has since evolved and it became clear we would need a more substantial intercooler package better suited to big power, heavily tuned cars whilst future-proofing them for further tuning development. The SolutionAs a result, we developed the biggest intercooler kit we could and made the most of the available space behind the bumper by using a stepped core design that would rise up behind the entire front grille area. Using our experience in developing intercooler kits that integrate a replacement crash bar design, we were able to CNC machine billet brackets that allowed the intercooler to bolt in place. By doing so, the new intercooler offers a huge 143% increase in overall capacity in comparison to the original intercooler (54% bigger than our Stage 1 kit), and also features a colossal 115% increase in frontal area over standard (78% over our Stage 1), which allows it to make the most of the air flow provided. Together with our high-flow, moulded one-piece cast end tanks to ensure flow is directed correctly and efficiently, the Stage 3 AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler also features an enlarged 60mm inlet to match the outlet, and together the kit offers much greater efficiency and volume over both the standard and our Stage 1 intercoolers, which it proved during testing. The TestingDuring track testing at Snetterton Circuit in the UK using our 420bhp AIRTEC Motorsport development car, we logged the inlet and outlet temperatures of both our Stage 1 and Stage 3 intercoolers back-to-back. The figures showed that at this high level of power, over the course of a hot lap the Stage 1 starts to fight maintaining a stable charge temperature, with a 15-degree range highlighting its battle against the high and sustained levels of boost pressure. However, with the Stage 3 intercooler fitted, the figures showed the larger core with increased air flow provided a much more consistent charge temperature throughout the test, highlighted with just a 5-degree range in temperature. Verdict: Both intercoolers demonstrate a high level of efficiency, reducing charge air temperature by over 200 degrees and equating to over 90% efficiency, but the Stage 3 could sustain that level for longer, which is crucial for highly tuned cars to run safely for extended periods of time. The IssueThe original under tray on Gen 1 cars features no venting at all and is made from a weak fibre material construction which will be prone to failure over time. Gen 2 cars feature a plastic under tray but with a small single vent for the transfer case alone.  ConstructionOur solution to creating a direct replacement under tray began with a full 3D scan of the vehicle’s underside to ensure a perfect fitment that reuses all original mounting points and fixings. Made in 2mm aluminium and finished in a high-quality black powder coat, our under tray offers an enhanced level of protection to the underside of the car but more importantly, the design has also been carefully considered to ensure improved cooling and air flow to the vital transmission components.  CoolingWhilst the Gen 1 under trays feature no cooling at all, the Gen 2 under trays feature a basic duct for the transfer case at the rear, as clearly Toyota see this as an area that requires cooling. The AIRTEC Motorsport under tray therefore utilises a much larger scoop for the rear to force more air flow and offer better cooling. It also features a built in gearbox cooling duct, together with a venting section behind it to create air flow to and from the transmission and reduce temperatures. The comprehensive design also features rear ventilation to allow heat to exit the undertray together with side vents to further improve air flow. Following on from the huge success of our Stage 1 intercooler for the Gen 1 model, we’ve created a package suitable for Gen 2 models with either automatic or manual transmission. The second generation Yaris GR uses a slightly different intercooler kit to the first generation cars in terms of fitting and the use of the water spray bar. Therefore in order to ensure there is no noticeable loss in performance during extended periods of hard driving on road or track, AIRTEC Motorsport has developed a larger, freer-flowing intercooler that is a direct replacement for the smaller and more restrictive OEM item. Our solution to increasing the intercooler’s size and performance is based upon our stepped-core design to make the most of the limited space available behind the bumper. The core steps from 110mm to 70mm and in doing so offers a huge 64% increase in overall capacity in comparison to the original intercooler. It also offers a 30% increase in frontal area over standard, which allows it to make the very most of the air flow provided. The inlet side of the intercooler retains a 50mm diameter to ensure minimal turbo lag whilst the outlet side increases to 60mm to offer less restriction. In standard form, the Yaris GR’s throttle body is plumbed into the cooling system’s loop and coolant is circulated around the outside of it.  This direct replacement silicone hose has been specifically made by Pro Hoses to remove the throttle body from the cooling system, which is required if you are changing to a bigger throttle body.  The kit features one silicone hose, two bungs to and two jubilee clips to effectively create a bypass loop.   As part of our expanding Toyota product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our inlet manifold upgrade aimed at modified Yaris GR owners who want to further improve the performance of their cars for track or fast road use. The DesignWe wanted to develop a manifold with an improved design to allow more flow, whilst introducing longer inlet runners to help produce more power at lower engine speed. We also wanted to incorporate a design that increased air flow balance across the three cylinders. Crucially, we were also determined to create a true direct replacement manifold that required no further modifications, such as custom fabrication or a costly aftermarket ECU. After a thorough development process that saw us simulate and test several different designs, the result is a manifold unlike any other on the market. Tested – Increased and Balanced FlowOur freer-flowing design measured an improvement in flow of 36% in comparison to the original. Furthermore, by flow testing the original manifold and using runner number two as the benchmark, our test data revealed runner number one flowed a 13% difference on average whilst runner number three flowed an 11% difference on average.In direct comparison, the same test conducted on our AIRTEC Motorsport manifold revealed a difference of just 2% on runner number one and only 4% on runner number three, therefore providing much more equal balance across the cylinders, which is crucial for safe and efficient fuelling as well as consistent power and torque. Direct Replacement Fit We also completed our secondary goal of ensuring the manifold was a true direct replacement by utilising the original throttle body and pipework. The manifold also includes moulded fixing tabs to secure the coolant lines and wiring loom, which secure in place as per the original. Lastly, the manifold allows the original rubber gaskets to transfer over for a simple and easy installation process. If you have an AIRTEC Motorsport catch can fitted, please choose from the drop down menu, as the breather fittings require different take offs.Please note: the manifold has been designed to also allow a larger 54mm throttle body to fit if preferred, but this will require additional works to the boost pipework and ECU. Following an extensive development process, AIRTEC Motorsport are proud to launch our auxiliary radiator and turbo cooler kits aimed at modified Yaris GR owners who require the ultimate cooling package to maintain steady running temperatures on track or fast road use. The challengeWhen modifying the Yaris GR to increase power and torque at more extreme levels, an unavoidable by product is the additional heat level that’s transferred to the car’s cooling system. During hard use this can become a substantial issue, as we found on our own 400bhp+ Yaris GR demo car whilst testing on track. After sustained periods of hard use (similar to a round of racing), coolant temperatures would eventually reach 102 degrees, which was enough to trigger the aftermarket ECU’s safety features, putting the car into limp mode. Similarly, oil temperatures reached 123 degrees. We needed to address the car’s entire cooling system if we were going continue to modify and track our Yaris. The solutionDeveloped in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK we designed a series of new products to address the cooling issues when pushed to the limit. This additional radiator fits neatly behind the fog light (requires removal) and utilises laser-cut aluminium ducting to force cold air through the radiator. To create a flow path and further improve cooling, air then exits via the inner arch liner (requires cutting). A pre-cut mesh shield is supplied for both the front and rear to protect the radiator from road debris damage. The radiator is plumbed directly into the existing oil/water heat exchanger system to improve the car’s overall capacity and cooling ability, allowing it to maintain a steady temperature for longer during hard use. This can fit with any of our intercooler or oil cooler combinations to create the ultimate cooling package. The comprehensive kit also features laser-cut and powder-coated brackets, high-quality Pro Hoses silicone lines as well as all fixtures and fittings, and detailed fitting instructions. The testingWe went back to the track fitted with both our turbo and auxiliary radiators, as well as our larger Stage 3 oil cooler fitted, and were able to see a 10 degree peak drop from the coolant temperature, reducing to a much safer constant 92 degrees whilst oil temperature reached a maximum of 94 degrees thanks to a mix of the larger oil cooler allowing more surface area to cool the oil and the turbo cooler being able to reject more heat for the car’s original oil/water heat exchanger. After sustained periods of hard use (similar to a round of racing), coolant temperatures would eventually reach 102 degrees, which was enough to trigger the aftermarket ECU’s safety features, putting the car into limp mode. Similarly, oil temperatures reached 123 degrees. We needed to address the car’s entire cooling system if we were going continue to modify and track our Yaris. The solutionDeveloped in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK we designed a series of new products to address the cooling issues when pushed to the limit. This additional turbo cooler fits neatly behind the fog light (requires removal) and utilises laser-cut aluminium ducting to force cold air through the radiator. To create a flow path and further improve cooling, air then exits via the inner arch liner (requires cutting). A pre-cut mesh shield is supplied for both the front and rear to protect the radiator from road debris damage. The turbo cooler is plumbed directly into the cooling circuit that flows coolant to the turbo, therefore offering an immediate reduction in heat before the coolant reaches the hottest part of the car, which improves overall capacity and cooling ability, allowing it to maintain a steady temperature for longer during hard use. This can fit with any of our intercooler or oil cooler combinations to create the ultimate cooling package. The comprehensive kit also features laser-cut and powder-coated brackets, high-quality Pro Hoses silicone lines as well as all fixtures and fittings, and detailed fitting instructions. The testingWe went back to the track fitted with both our turbo and auxiliary radiators, as well as our larger Stage 3 oil cooler fitted, and were able to see a 10 degree peak drop from the coolant temperature, reducing to a much safer constant 92 degrees whilst oil temperature reached a maximum of 94 degrees thanks to a mix of the larger oil cooler allowing more surface area to cool the oil and the turbo cooler being able to reject more heat for the car’s original oil/water heat exchanger. Freshly developed at AIRTEC HQ in the UK, we’re proud to launch our ultimate specification intercooler kit with integrated crash bar design aimed at modified Toyota Yaris GR owners who want the very highest levels of cooling efficiency and performance for track or fast road use. The challengeOur earlier Stage 1 intercooler was developed to cater for tuned Yaris GR models of the time and has become a popular upgrade. However, Yaris GR tuning potential has since evolved and it became clear we would need a more substantial intercooler package better suited to big power, heavily tuned cars whilst future-proofing them for further tuning development. The solutionAs a result, we developed the biggest intercooler kit we could and made the most of the available space behind the bumper by using a stepped core design that would rise up behind the entire front grille area. Using our experience in developing intercooler kits that integrate a replacement crash bar design, we were able to CNC machine billet brackets that allowed the intercooler to bolt in place. By doing so, the new intercooler offers a huge 143% increase in overall capacity in comparison to the original intercooler (54% bigger than our Stage 1 kit), and also features a colossal 121% increase in frontal area over standard (78% over our Stage 1), which allows it to make the most of the air flow provided. The testingDuring track testing at Snetterton Circuit in the UK using our 420bhp AIRTEC Motorsport development car, we logged the inlet and outlet temperatures of both our Stage 1 and Stage 3 intercoolers back-to-back. The figures showed that at this high level of power, over the course of a hot lap the Stage 1 starts to fight maintaining a stable charge temperature, with a 15-degree range highlighting its battle against the high and sustained levels of boost pressure. However, with the Stage 3 intercooler fitted, the figures showed the larger core with increased air flow provided a much more consistent charge temperature throughout the test, highlighted with just a 5-degree range in temperature. Verdict: Both intercoolers demonstrate a high level of efficiency, reducing charge air temperature by over 200 degrees and equating to over 90% efficiency, but the Stage 3 could sustain that level for longer, which is crucial for highly tuned cars to run safely for extended periods of time. As part of our expanding Yaris GR product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our Carbon Fibre Closed Air Induction System suitable for track or fast road use. Developed in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK, we’ve created a comprehensive solution to improving flow whilst maintaining low intake temperatures, which improves performance, response, sound and aesthetics within the engine bay. Having previously designed a shielded induction kit for the Yaris GR model, we were keen to develop a more extensive intake package to offer further improvements. Using our experience from developing and producing our WRC-inspired Closed Air Induction System (CAIS) for the Focus RS that is proven to dramatically increase power and torque, we embarked on developing an entire replacement air box carefully moulded to our design in a lightweight carbon fibre material to help thermal efficiency. Sealed inside is a large Group-A style cotton air filter that draws fresh air solely from the front intake, ensuring minimal heat soak issues and the lowest possible intake temperatures. Our design also features a replacement MAF housing and rear intake pipe, both 80mm in diameter and finished in black powder-coated finish. The kit comes complete with high quality Pro Hoses silicone connectors, as well as all fixtures and fittings required for a simple installation. The kit is a direct replacement that comes complete pre-built and ready to install.
