The Racingline Performance High-Flow Turbo Inlet Pipe for MQB Golf 7 GTI/R plus Audi S3 has been engineered to increase air flow through to the turbocharger as the perfect compliment our Racingline Performance R600 Cold Air Intake or even the standard airbox. A simple fitment, it replaces the entire restrictive rear factory plastic bellows pipe between the airbox and the turbocharger inlet pipe. This Turbo Inlet Pipe is a large diameter smooth-flowing silicon hose, crucially with enough compliance to allow for adequate engine movement without causing damage to the intake. There are solid turbo inlet pipes on the market, but without this compliance as the engine rocks under power, then something has to give – with a solid pipe it will either be your intake, or the pipe itself. Back-to-back comparisons with the factory pipe on our flow bench reveals an impressive improvement in airflow, and makes a great compliment to the R600 intake. The kit is a direct OEM replacement: simply remove the factory hoses, and replace them with the three uprated silicone pipes. Simple.Stepped internal joint transitions give a port-matched laminar airflow path, greatly reducing turbulence versus other non-stepped designs.Of course the RacingLine hoses are pressure tested far beyond the turbo’s capabilities, allowing the system to maintain performance under extreme temperature and high-boost conditions. The RacingLine Boost Pipe Kit comprises three separate pieces. Two mandrel-bent hard-pipes for the turbo-intercooler and intercooler-throttle body chargepath, plus a reinforced turbo outlet Silicone Hose for the turbo outlet. The Boost Pipes themselves are formed from single piece, mandrel-bent 6000 series aluminium tube with thin wall 60mm OD. The silicone hose is hand-wound multi-ply over internal wire reinforcement, ensuring resistance to both heat and deformation. Meanwhile, barbed ends on the pipes ensure no risk of blow off, even under extreme boost pressure conditions. As you’d expect from RacingLine, each pipe is hand polished then anodised black with laser etched logos as the finishing touch - to look great in your engine bay, and stay looking great. As with all RacingLine products, perfect fitment is a priority. So, all the mounting brackets are carefully TIG welded to ensure dimensional perfection. And within each kit, RacingLine include a stainless steel Mikalor-brand clamp, OEM rubber mounting bobbins and new bolts to make sure you achieve the perfect installation. Install is direct OEM-replacement and requires no additional drilling or cutting to fit - meaning install is fully reversible. A direct replacement part that offers increases in performance and response, the enlarged turbo inlet elbow features a freer-flowing design with an increased internal diameter. How it worksThe original elbow features a constant 80mm diameter throughout, which limits flow and capacity. What the turbo inlet system does. Our new Turbo Inlet System for the 300-320PS MQB 'EVO' cars such as Golf 8R, GTI CS, Audi S3 8Y etc is a matched package of our much larger diameter, free flowing Turbo 90 Inlet paired with reinforced Silicone Turbo Inlet Hose for much higher airflow between intake and turbo. The factory inlet forces the airflow to pass through the restrictive plastic 'bellows' pipe, before tapering right down to run through a tight and restrictive plastic turbo inlet - in other words, terrible for flow. The RacingLine Turbo Inlet System replaces this pipework with a larger diameter smooth-flowing silicon hose mated to a larger diameter thin-wall free flowing intake elbow. The internal diameter of the Turbo 90 Inlet is massively increased from 74mm on the factory part right up to 84mm. It's by combining the two parts of the kit that's allowed us to enlarge the diameter of both the Inlet and the Hose so much - and so give the maximum possible gains. Put simply, without it, you’re wasting much of the potential of your high-flow intake system without fitting this Turbo Inlet System. An essential upgrade! ECS Tuning ECS TUNING - High Flow Turbo Outlet Pipe Kit - Wrinkle Red
The factory MQB Gen3 plastic charge pipes and rubber couplers were never designed to handle the stress and abuse of higher boost levels much beyond stock. When combined with power-robbing abrupt and sharp bends, inferior rubber material, and small diameter tubing, it's easy to see why your intercooler pipes and couplers should be replaced, even on stock vehicles. At ECS Tuning, we're proud to release our in house designed and engineered High Flow Turbo Outlet Pipe Kit! Each kit comes standard with mandrel bent, bead rolled, powdercoated aluminum turbo-to-intercooler plumbing, smooth flowing silicone couplers stainless steel T-Bolt clamps and all installation accessories for an easy, direct bolt on installation. The factory turbocharger outlet pipe has serious restriction right out of the compressor outlet due to small diameter tubing and irregular obstructions. We improved on this charge pipe by providing a smooth transitioning silicone coupler right off the turbo outlet which carries boost pressure to our carefully evaluated larger, 60mm (~2 3/8") tubing diameter intercooler pipes. The upper intercooler pipe features a CNC-machined and TIG welded mounting flange for the CNC-bent aluminum mounting bracket to allow for OE-like fitment. The lower intercooler pipe features a smooth transition into the silicone intercooler coupler for optimized flow. Capable of withstanding greater heat and higher boost pressure than stock, you can expect to achieve greater reliability, less turbulence and less restriction thanks to the larger diameter tubing and smooth silicone bends. Never worry about blowing couplers off of our tubes, as each tube is bead rolled and secured with stainless T-bolt clamp over our 4-ply reinforced silicone couplers. The Design Following the success of our carbon fibre intake for the Mk7 Golf we knew that we wanted to continue with our ‘Hi-Flow’ range and bring out an affordable option to the 1.4 TSI market. We conducted intense market research, speaking to tuners and owners of the vehicles we wanted the intake to fit. We concluded that rather than creating an entire carbon fibre intake system, the best product to create would be a carbon fibre scoop and airbox lid that fits with original airbox. With this idea in mind we started the design. Using industrial foam and aluminium the concept design was created. With these components, we could identify the best way to fit the scoop, join it to the air box and mount it to the vehicle. Throughout the drawing process we ran simulated air flow tests, this way we could ensure that we would create a product with the most efficient flow possible. The carbon fibre prototype was made and fitted to the vehicle. The design is one of the most aesthetically pleasing and practical on the market To ensure we deliver the best quality product we could and following the extensive design and development of this intake, we enlisted the services of one the world’s leading Carbon fibre manufacturers, who’s products range from F1 aero, carbon fibre car bodies and aircraft wings! Tooling was then CNC machined from billet aluminium to ensure the finished product was flawless. This enables us to create a perfect airbox using the autoclave technique during the manufacturing process of the 2x2 twill carbon fibre. Rather than using a vacuum (also known as liquid infusion) to draw the resin through the mould then pulling the raw carbon fibre cloth to the mould shape, a technique known as Autoclave is used in the manufacturing of this beautifully designed product. This involves the use of up to 10 bar of pressure that is blown into a 100% billet mould to force it out. This high amount of pressure ensures the material is fully in contact with the surface of the mould. Therefore, making sure the weave is tight, solid and strong, this process also ensures there are no imperfections in the product. The mould is then heated to cure the resin which in turn gives a tensile strength up to eight times stronger than mild steel but at a fraction of the weight. Having spent so much time on the carbon and silicone development we then turned to the equally important aspect of filtration. Going with the Flow With the lid and scoop design completed we moved on to the hose and filter. There is no point creating such an efficient system for it then to be restricted by the OEM hose and filter. Therefore, for the filter we engaged our partners and experts in Filtration Control, Pipercross! With over 25 years’ experience in both the domestic and motorsport market they recommended a multi-layer foam construction filter, these filters work perfectly in our ‘Hi-Flow’ range. The large filter provided, flows 30% more air than stock and fits snuggly within the housing. This combination is second to none. The Forge Motorsport high flow intake hose that is mated to the carbon airbox eliminates the highly restrictive plastic and noise restricting inlet pipe, and replaces it with our smooth bore multi-ply silicone hose which increases air flow, improving efficiency and performance. This equates to increases of up to 10hp which is a remarkable gain for an easy to fit bolt on modification. The Forge silicone hose in this kit has been designed to include an expensive inner liner of modified silicone known as Fluorosilicone. Larger charge air volume in the system means reduced flow resistance, allowing the turbo to expend more energy on air compression and less energy overcoming restrictions; resulting in more power. CHARGE PIPE DESIGN The Revo charge pipe is a smooth mandrel-bent aluminium pipe, coupled with a custom tapered silicone hose to gradually transition to a larger diameter from the turbo outlet to the hard pipe. The charge pipe is designed to directly replace the OEM part utilising optimised pipe routing and a unique constant-diameter design. This eliminates restrictions, including dents found on the stock charge pipe while allowing enough clearance from engine parts, increasing performance without compromising fitment. THROTTLE PIPE DESIGN The Revo throttle pipe increases airflow by replacing the stock part with an increased diameter, mandrel-bent aluminium hard pipe and reinforced oil resistant silicone hose. The hose connection is ID-matched to promote laminar, uniform flow across the transition of parts, as well as being slightly longer for ease of installation. RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT All Revo products are designed in-house using the latest 3D printing technology, CAD and CFD software. Every product is rigorously tested utilising an in-house Hub dyno and Revo data acquisition software. PERFORMANCE DATA Fitted to a Skoda Octavia vRS (2.0 TSI EA888 Gen 3) fitted with the Revo IS38ETR Turbo and Performance Pack, the Revo intercooler pipe upgrade gave an impressive gain of more than +27HP and +50NM at 3600RPM when compared to the stock parts being fitted, with a constant gain throughout the rev range, most notably from 3500-5000 RPM.
