These vehicles can start to struggle with heat management during certain driving scenarios. Therefore the grill shutters parameters have been enhanced to allow the shutters to open sooner and increase the airflow over the intercooler. To gain better control of the coolant temperatures the routine for the Radiator fan has been increased to allow it to now run faster when required. When you first start your car, the cold oil is at its thickest, producing higher oil pressure when pumped around the engine putting extra pressure on oil seals. As the engine temperature increases, so do oil temperature. This thins the oil, enabling it to run more freely and better lubricate the moving parts of your engine. Cold Start Display gives an advised maximum RPM limit as the oil reaches certain temperature points until over 65°C. Our Stage 2 GPF software retains the stock downpipe, factory catalytic convertor and GPF 3, although we did upgrade the GPF back section on our own ST development vehicle to give more exhaust acoustics.   Whilst we are not supporting GPF removal, over months of extensive development, we tested all variations of exhaust setups to determine the effects and restrictions of the stock downpipe and GPF. Although an exhaust system with no Catalytic convertor or GPF is always going to be slightly less restrictive than a stock system, we saw less than a 4% difference through a limited part of the rev range with little change elsewhere. There is a much more significant restriction closer to the engine; a combination of the integral manifold/port/turbine design.  All Revo Stage 2 GPF software is specifically designed for a Stock downpipe and GPF. The 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (0GC) was derived from the advanced development of the previous 7-speed gearboxes, such as the DQ380 (ODE) and DQ500 (0BT), which had been used in commercial vehicles from 2010 and passenger vehicles since 2011. One key feature of the DQ381 gearbox was principally aimed at increasing efficiency. Unlike the DQ380 gearbox, the DQ381 was designed to be used in both FWD and all-wheel drive vehicles on the MQB chassis platform, such as the Mk7 Golf  R, Audi S3, SQ2 and Cupra Ateca.  This 7-speed wet clutch gearbox is already an improvement over the previous DQ250 6-speed, in terms of allowing the vehicle to shift more efficiently, and with a smother gearchange due to the closer gear ratios. However, driving a DQ381 equipped vehicle you will know that there are still areas that can be improved, especially on performance modes. With the stock calibration, you may find that gear shifts happen too low in the RPM range, or too high when in sports mode. Our Stage 2 GPF software retains the stock downpipe, factory catalytic convertor and GPF 3, although we did upgrade the GPF back section on the ST development vehicle to give more exhaust acoustics.   Whilst we are not supporting GPF removal, over the months of extensive development, we tested all variations of exhaust setups to determine the effects and restrictions of the stock downpipe and GPF. The conclusion was that although the stock system was obviously going to be slightly more restrictive over a system with no Catalytic convertor and GPF, the actual peak number gains seen on the dyno showed less than a 4% gain through a limited part of the rev range. During the rest of the rev range, the results were very similar.  There is a much more significant restriction closer to the engine; a combination of integral manifold/port/turbine design.  All Revo Stage 2 GPF software is specifically designed for a Stock downpipe and GPF. When you first start your car, the cold oil is at its thickest, producing higher oil pressure when pumped around the engine putting extra pressure on oil seals. As the engine temperature increases, so do oil temperatures. This thins the oil, enabling it to run more freely and better lubricate the moving parts of your engine. Cold Start Protection helps protect engine components by limiting turbo boost based on RPM and oil temperature until it reaches the 80ºC optimum operating level.  TEMPERATURE PROTECTION Exhaust gas temperatures (EGT) are also monitored, adapting the operating conditions (Air Fuel Ratio) to ensure they stay within safe parameters.
