With the success of FMINDK30 we took the opportunity to revisit the UP GTI and looked to see if we could improve on the 1.0 TSI air flow to the turbo charger. On investigation we could see that the OEM turbo adaptor was very restrictive and was an area in need for improvement. Therefore, our highly skilled development team got to work designing a solution to maximize the capacity by using our CAD system and physical prototypes. The OEM plastic turbo inlet includes a restrictive ribbed and hollow noise chamber that is designed to disturb the air flow and reduce induction noise, this OEM part has a detrimental effect to the engines performance especially when tuned. For the best possible gains, we removed the chamber allowing us to increase the volume and air flow significantly. Our hose design also has an internal stepped area where it is positioned and joined to the turbo housing, this is to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible from the inlet tract to the turbo. Several different designs and material choices were tested until we arrived with the product you see here. The construction of FMTIA3 is manufactured from reinforced multi ply silicone which is more durable than the OEM plastic pipe and it will also not suffer from heat soak like other similar products available. With its enlarged capacity and less restrictive surface area it routes air directly into your turbo charger and allows a greater volume of air to be compressed, this can have a positive effect on accelerating your vehicle after long deceleration or in between gear changes due to more air being kept within the inlet tract to the turbo charger. One significant feature of FMTIA3 is its compatibility with vehicles equipped with and without the PCV system integrated into the existing turbo intake, the early engines do not have the breather system in place from the fuel tank to the elbow. We supply the necessary hardware to blank of the elbow spouts if its required to fit the turbo inlet adaptor to the earlier engine revision The one way valve and coupler adaptor are also supplied so the elbow can be installed to the newer revised engine. The FMTIA3 is also compatible with the factory air box, however for the best performance results we recommend using our intake systems for your particular chassis application. This is a product which is essential when tuning the 1.0 TSI engine, if its either stage one or stage two tuning we have seen consistent gains from 3-5 bhp depending on the vehicles state of tune. This is a straightforward yet very effective power increasing modification that can be fitted with basic tools and has a typical installation time of around 60 minutes. As with all Forge products it includes a full set of comprehensive installation instructions to make fitting as straightforward as possible. The Forge silicone hoses in this kit have been designed to include an expensive inner liner of modified silicone known as Fluorosilicone. This means the hoses are suitable to be used with either modern long-life coolants, Organic Acid Technology coolants (O.A.T.) or air containing oil mist. Modern direct injection engines are efficient and powerful, but are prone to carbon deposits that build up inside the intake port and on the back-side of intake valves. These deposits rob the engine of power and efficiency. Traditional methods of manually removing these deposits can be difficult, time consuming, and expensive. The 034Motorsport Direct Injection Head Port Cleaning Tool makes short and easy work of removing these deposits from your intake ports and valves. The tool has a small port for a media blasting wand and a large port that connects to a shop vacuum hose. The vacuum generated by the shop vac holds the tool in place up against the intake port, freeing your hands to focus on the media blasting. To use, simply rotate the crankshaft to close the intake valves in a given intake port before positioning the Direct Injection Head Port Cleaning Tool on the intake port. Turn on the vacuum and media blast away. All of the blasting media is sucked into the shop vac, making the entire process quick and easy, with little to no clean-up necessary afterwards. The APR Open PEX intake system is the best price/performance intake system on the market and has already been installed thousands of times in vehicles.The sound and performance of the engine were significantly increased and the restrictive area in the intake tract was eliminated. This made it possible to reduce the pressure loss and increase the efficiency of the turbocharger while doing the same work. This results in more power and torque while reducing load. The system uses a washable 7-inch and very high quality conical cotton filter that has a 4-inch connection.This was also necessary to reduce the standard pressure drop and maximize the airflow while also significantly increasing the sound aspect. The PEX material conducts heat very poorly, which also benefits the system and therefore ideally contributes to increasing performance.The PEX material still gives the engine compartment a touch of stock component, as far as you can say for an open air filter. Oil catch cans are vital preventative additions to ensure performance of Direct Injection engines doesn’t deteriorate over time. AIRTEC Motorsport’s solution to developing a catch can kit specifically for the Golf R model utilises the available space to integrate seamlessly within the engine bay. It features a high-quality, laser cut bracket finished in powder coated black, which allows the catch can to attach neatly in place and also locates the new washer fluid tank filler. The can itself features an internal micron filter, baffle and dipstick and detaches to allow easy maintenance. It comes with a comprehensive fitting kit that includes all fixtures and fittings, as well as a detailed installation guide. Why do I need a catch can?The original oil breather set up can cause issues with carbon build-up inside the engine’s intake system over time. It forms an oily sludge that covers parts of the intake and inlet valves, which reduces air flow and therefore performance. Once the build-up has formed, it’s a costly process to clean, so it makes sense to take preventative measures in order to avoid carbon build-up forming. A catch can works as a filter to catch harmful contaminants before they can reach the inlet system. Here we have a brand new product for the MK3.5 Focus including the ST/RS models. These slam panel ends tidy up the appearance of the area around the rear of the headlight. The kit is universal for cars with or without bonnet gas struts. Much thicker than other panels on the market and currently available in our smooth plastic, gloss black plastic, textured plastic for the OEM look and carbon fibre effect plastic. Carbon fibre, gloss black and textured panels are supplied ready to fit to the car. Fitment is straight forward and takes 15 minutes; no cutting or drilling is required to fit the items. Comes complete with fitting kit and instructions. Fitting video will also be available soon! The variances in the air conditioning piping has meant that we are offering this product with the option of a hole for the air conditioning pipe. Some of these pipes stick up further than others. If you opt not have the hole, this can result in a small gap (3-4mm) between the front of the headlight and the panel. We appreciate that some people will be happy with a small gap rather than a pipe sticking through slam panel (it looks cleaner without the hole).
