Designed to work exclusively with our AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler upgrade, the enlarged cold side boost pipe kit replaces the pipework from the intercooler to the throttle body with a freer-flowing design that offers increased internal capacity to reduce restriction and improve response. The original pipework measures 50mm in diameter from the intercooler before stepping up to the 55m throttle body. We developed enlarged pipework that measures 60mm to meet the intercooler outlet and then continues throughout until it reduces down to the throttle body, offering a significant internal capacity increase of 20%. It also features fewer tight bends to further reduce restriction and improve flow. Made from high-quality aluminium, the pipework is finished in powder-coated black for a subtle OEM+ look and is joined with a Pro Hoses silicone pipe and connector. Airtec AIRTEC Motorsport Intercooler Upgrade for Suzuki Swift Sport ZC33S
As part of our expanding Suzuki product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our Swift Sport Boosterjet intercooler upgrade suitable for track or fast road use. In order to ensure there is no noticeable loss in performance during extended periods of hard driving, we have developed a larger, freer-flowing intercooler that is a direct replacement for the smaller and more restrictive OEM item. The original intercooler is wide but shallow and significantly obstructed by the radar sensor and air duct, which are located directly in front of the intercooler core and restricts air flow. We concentrated on using the available space to create a core that fitted bedside the radar sensor but was much deeper. We then utilised the remaining space to produce a freer-flowing end tank design. The result is a core that’s a huge 80% deeper than the original, offering a massive 88% increase in overall capacity in comparison to the OEM intercooler and there’s also a significant increase in unobstructed frontal area, which allows it to make the most of the air flow provided. It’s also the only intercooler available on the market that offers 15% larger inlet and outlets, increasing to 60mm from the standard 52mm found on the original intercooler to reduce restriction. The kit is supplied with Pro Hoses silicone pipework, which joins to the OEM boost pipe on the outlet/cold side and replaces the pipework going to the inlet/hot side to further improve flow. We also offer an optional enlarged outlet/cold side pipe kit to match. Together with our high-flow, moulded one-piece cast end tanks to ensure flow is directed correctly and efficiently, the AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler offers much greater cooling efficiency and volume over standard. Airtec AIRTEC Motorsport Brake Cooling Guides for BMW E9x M3
On track, braking during heavy use can be affected by heat build up, but improved ventilation directly to the brake disc’s internal vanes can effectively decrease temperatures. To develop a truly effective brake cooling package, we concentrated on providing the most amount of air flow possible to the brake disc. After trying and testing several diameters of ducting, we calculated that a single 71mm hose feeding twin 51mm hoses would be far more effective than a single hose. In fact, our combination provides a 26% increase in air flow over a single 63mm hose that other kits on the market use. As a result, the backing plates feature a unique twin feed design that are still a direct fit to the hub. The comprehensive kit includes heavy duty ducting, as well as bespoke air duct dividers together with all fixtures and fittings, including a detailed fitting guide. The package was developed on our own track-based demo car, which is fitted with a popular aftermarket big brake kit and a GT4-style front splitter, and as a result the kit has been tailored to suit this combination but it can be made to fit any combination of brake kit and bumper/splitter set up. Our solution is a direct replacement, three-piece undertray made in aluminium that reuses all of the original mounting points to ensure a perfect and secure fitment. Unlike others on the market, the design of the oil cooler extraction ducting has also been carefully considered to imitate the original in order to maintain sufficient cooling. As a result, the sides of the ducts are enclosed against the oil cooler and the radius of the ducting increased in size. The IssueThe original BMW arch liners feature a vented section to allow air to escape from the front bumper. However, this section has very little clearance to the tyre when turning, which is acceptable for a standard car, but when modified with lowered suspension, larger tyres or even simple wheel spacers, it causes the tyre to make contact with the vented section and instantly damages it. The plastic fins can then break off and these can also damage the tyre. The SolutionSimple yet effective, our design team developed replacement grilles that can be fitted to the arch liner to provide the necessary extra clearance. Tested on a lowered car with larger tyres, these grilles still ensure large debris cannot pass through whilst allowing air to escape from the front bumper. Made from 2mm aluminium and finished in a high-quality black powder coat, the grilles feature our own hexagonal design that’s laser cut into the grille. The grilles attach to the arch liner with seven fixings each side to ensure they are rigid and the kit comes with all fixtures and fittings, as well as detailed installation instructions. The SolutionOur solution to creating a direct replacement undertray in aluminium began with a full 3D scan of the vehicle’s underside to ensure a perfect fitment that reuses all original mounting points. As part of our expanding BMW product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our induction kit upgrade for the BMW G87 M2, G80 M3 and G82 M4 models, suitable for track or fast road use. Developed in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK, we’ve created a comprehensive solution to improving the original air intake system to allow more flow whilst maintaining low intake temperatures, therefore improving response, sound and aesthetics within the engine bay. Having previously designed a number of enclosed induction kits for other performance models, we were keen to develop an intake package for the G8x series to offer significant improvements over standard and compared to other kits on the market. We began with a 3D scan of the engine bay so we could use a CAD program to calculate the most efficient use of space with a perfect fitment. As a result, we chose to utilise the original BMW air box bases with enlarged, two-piece laser cut lids. This increases the capacity of the air boxes to allow the fitment of 80mm cone air filters whilst retaining the original front air feed that ensures a constant flow of fresh air is forced into the air box. The lids feature vents to encourage the flow of air by allowing it to pass by the filter and then exit. Our perfectionist design engineer team also ensured the two air box lids locate perfectly parallel to the strut brace for a balanced aesthetic within the engine bay. The right-hand intake pipe retains the original fittings but features an uninterrupted 80mm diameter throughout to ensure the least restriction all the way to the turbo, whilst the connectors are CNC-machined and allow the use of the original O-rings and tension clips. Using the original air box bases also allows the original rubber mountings to be retained, which reduces vibration. The result is increased power, improved throttle response, heightened induction noise and a more pleasing look to the engine bay. Airtec AIRTEC Motorsport BMW S55 Front & Rear Turbo Inlet
As part of our expanding BMW product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our enlarged turbo inlet upgrade for the S55 engine fitted with hybrid turbos. A direct replacement part that offers increases in performance and response, the enlarged turbo inlets feature a freer-flowing design with an increased internal diameter, which is essential when fitting hybrid turbos. How it works The original elbows from the air boxes are made from plastic and gradually taper down from 80mm to just 54mm and then 41mm as they enter the turbos. Whilst this is adequate for standard turbo cars, when fitting hybrid turbos, which consume more air, the original elbows can cause an unnecessary restriction that hampers flow when pushing for more power. Our AIRTEC Motorsport direct replacement inlets have been designed in-house to feature pipework that very gently tapers to 64mm in diameter as they reach the turbo inlet, therefore removing the stepped restriction and allowing the maximum amount of internal flow, with increases of nearly 35% compared to standard. The elbow upgrade includes pipework for both front and rear turbos and includes all fixtures and fittings. Our solution to creating a direct replacement undertray in aluminium began with a full 3D scan of the vehicle’s underside to ensure a perfect fitment. As a result, it reuses all original mounting points, as well three additional fittings on the front edge, and is nut and bolted both sides to ensure absolute security. Unlike any other replacement undertray on the market, our design features no step, which is better suited to lowered cars. The cooling ducts are also larger in size to increase air flow passing over the gearbox and transfer case, which helps to reduce transmission operating temperatures and the sides pieces are larger to create a seal against the arch liners. Whilst the original chargecooler works well on standard car, as soon more boost is added from a simple remap, the original Ford radiator struggles to sustain safe temperatures, which in turn can make the car run slower as charge air temps increase and the ECU is forced to restrict power to combat it. As part of our expanding Honda platform product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our external oil cooler kit for the FL5 Civic Type R, suitable for track or fast road use. With huge experience in developing external oil cooler packages for a variety of modified track and road cars, and aware of the FL5 Type R’s oil cooling issues during track use, the challenge with this kit was to neatly integrate a large capacity, external oil cooler where it could still benefit from direct air flow, whilst integrating seamlessly with the car’s existing fixtures and fittings with no drilling or cutting required. Unlike previous Type R models, mounting the oil cooler in the lower bumper wasn’t possible, so we chose to utilise the upper grille area and opted to design a unique oil cooler in order to make the very most of the limited space available, rather than use a generic off-the-shelf item. As a result, in comparison to a universal 13-row oil cooler, our bespoke oil cooler has 45% more capacity and is 100%/twice as much frontal area, which means there is more air flow passing through the core to help cool it. We also purposely spaced the oil cooler away from the radiator to avoid any potential heat soak issues, creating a package that is unrivalled in the market. The comprehensive package includes bespoke laser-cut and powder-coated mounting brackets, high-quality braided hose lines with Aerotec fittings, and all fixtures, including instructions, for a simple bolt-on installation. Its increased cooling efficiency and easy fitment makes it an essential modification for all modified FL5 Type R models.
